Morning, all

I dont normally fly out of Mcr, so not quite up to speed

Aae there any good/recommended meet and greet type options in Manchester for a 18 day family trip away that anyone could recommend please?

If not, what would you recommend for that time parking...cheap as poss really, but not too rubbish in terms of getting to and from car.

Any thoughts v gratefully received

All the Best

I always use the on site parking. Book it as far in advance as you can.
Sign up to the mailing list and they usually send 10 or 15% voucher codes.

Long stay will be the cheapest. It's an easy walk, or there's a shuttle bus.

I've tried meet and greet and off site parking in the past, but the small price difference doesn't out weigh the extra hassle in my mind.

I use Manchester Airport a lot.

Personally, I'm not a fan of "meet and greet". (Don't trust anyone driving my car)

The cheapest option probably is park about half a mile away on Jetparks (On airport land) and catch a free bus (about every ten minutes).

Last time we parked right next to the terminal on the multi story....(busy so just drive right to the top (open) floor which was only half full), was about £30 dearer but worth it if you have a lot of baggage as the terminal is just a lift ride away. The APNR cameras recognise your car, so you don't even have to put a ticket in.

Might cost around £90 though as seven days was £75, as opposed to £40 on Jetparks.

Sign up for quidco.com ... a cash back site. Go to Travel then Parking and Transfers.

It'll list different sites and cashback offers - holiday extras seems to be the best atm - currently 15% cashback on the Jetparks at Manchester.

Book through that, and you'll get cashback on the purchase. Doesn't seem to be any bump in the price compared to if you go to the sites directly without signing into Quidco first.

I use the Meet & Greet - never had a problem with it and I have no problem with their driving (I have a dashcam and I've watched).

There are places like APH who bus you in, but it's a total ballache to save a few quid.

Official meet and greet. Close to terminal. Run by airport not cowboys.

I use Justpark and usually park at the Marriot on site for 1/3 of the price of official airport parking then get an uber cab for under a fiver to the terminal.

I would also recommend the multi storey at Manchester Airport. Bit pricey but the most hassle free I would say. I used it last year, found a space quite easy.

I've used Jetparks before and wasn't particularly impressed. Muddy surface with puddles in craters. Very few available spaces. The bus also covered more than 1 Jetparks car park. Luckily we got on a bus, but in the next car park there was a long queue of people who hadn't been able to get on any bus because they had been full. Alot were shouting to the driver they had been waiting an hour. Now this was a couple of years ago, so maybe things have improved, but it didn't inspire me to book with them again.

I've also booked the terminal 1&3 long stay before. Turned up to find it was shut. Entrance coned off. Security guard confirmed it was shut but had no explanation as to why it was shut. Was redirected to the multi storey and got a space on the roof next to the hire cars. We still got the flight on time, but the desparate race to try and find a space in an already packed car park wasn't pleasant.

I am flying twice from Manchester later in the year. Multi storey was getting very expensive, so I have booked the long stay car park, if I can get in it this time!

Should have said. My preferred way of getting to Manchester Airport is train. The M60 is currently being worked on, and in general the road network from South Yorkshire is unreliable. There is a station on the airport served frequently and all terminals are walking distance under cover.

There's a lot of work going on to the car parks at the airport at the moment, a chap I know drives the shuttle buses, he recons they have over sold 13,000 parking spaces this summer. I tried to change my booking from 2 weeks to 3, if went from £50 to £130! I cancelled it and got the FIL to take us. It will now cost me the price of a bottle of whiskey!

As mentioned previously the multi storeys are the best, usually £100 for a fortnight, the jet parks are half the price of the MS. If you're not booking well in advance you'll pay a premium.

Just collected our car yesterday from M&G terminal 2. As above - lots of work going on, so instead of the usual place for collection they had parked it in the multi-storey - only issue was I struggled to get into the door as my car was parked tightly to the next cars. Overall quite happy with the official Meet&Greet service (used it last year too) so would use again / recommend. Staff are very good / polite and no sign of young idiots moving cars around.

I usually use Flight Shuttle Services who are a few minutes away in the shuttle.
Jetparks is next door which has ANPR barriers now which is good.
Normally around £35 a week.

We always use
http://www.skyparkuk.co.uk/

They have a couple of shuttle busses,
Takes just minutes to the terminal from their multi storey carpark at the Asda.

Wholly depends on the car in my opinion.
I fly MAN a lot with work and i've found skypark is fine if its a car you aren't really bothered about (its a bit ropey), otherwise, i just use the on site long stay, keep your keys and no-one else driving it smile

Hi I live close to Manchester airport, and have space available at home to park. What car is it, and what dates are you away? It is less than four miles to the airport, and costs around £10 in a taxi. Let me know if that would help. Howard

we had an absolute nightmare with the official parking.... booked months in advance, we turned up on the day quite early, which was a good job. the car park was FULL. loads of cars driving around trying to park...

after an hour (yes, an hour) we drove to the gate and pressed the call button... they told us to park in the short stay, which we did, but even then we had problems parking... Not the best way to start a holiday!
