Vegas for a stag do

...Vegas is in a bit of decline....
The only way it is declining is that the cost of a trip has gone up in the last couple of years as the number of visitors has reached record numbers, Americans have got more money to spend as their economy has improved from the down turn of the last decade, and the resorts are now making more money from selling hotel rooms and from bars and restaurants than from the gambling.
for a stag or first time or 1 time only visit i think strip is the place to spend most time. have a night on fremont street, more if long enough, but theres so much to cram in on the strip for a first timer imo.

Things The Strip is better for:
Admiring the mega-casinos.
Going to Night Clubs.
Eating at Celebrity Chef restaurants.
Attending big name shows.
Gambling as levels such as $25+ per hand at Blackjack or per unit at Craps.
Things Downtown is better for:
Slot Machine and video poker gambling.
Tables games at lower stakes.
Eating and Drinking at independent/trendy (dare one say 'hipster'?) bars and restaurants.
I find that there are similar volumes of vagrants and pan-handlers on The Strip as there are Downtown and the general tourist clientèle wandering around seem to be of similar demographics in both areas.

Why is that bad advice?
for starters the club advise and the buying passes of people peddling them on the strip, not to mention bits which are factually incorrect.but hey im a vegas pedant.
I was giving factual information following me just returning from Vegas a few days before I posted. There is nothing factually incorrect in my post and we saved a fortune by using one guy that got us into multiple clubs!
Don't assume because you've been more than once, no one else has

you shouldn't buy or trust anyone flogging stuff on the strip, period. and its not worth going to vegas super clubs and not having bottle service.

We didn't buy anything from someone flogging stuff on the strip, we met a guy that worked on the strip and took us to the club, got us in for free and on a couple of occasions we got a free drink once in..saved a decent amount of money.
Re the bottle service, it might not be worth it to you to go without it, but for some it's not the be all and end all you're making it out to be!
I think it's worth seeing Vegas, once.
I can't imagine the shooting ranges are doing LESS business since the recent shooting, to be honest.
I had my Stag do in Farnham (nearly 30 years ago).
If a mate suggested I spend 2K going to Vegas for his stag do, I'd politely wish him well and offer to go for a drink with him when he got back, but everyone's different and, as someone said earlier, there does seem to be a trend to try and out do previous stag dos, weddings, etc (Divorces?) these days.
