Finally getting my act together and making the pilgrimage to SEMA next year, but not sure where to stay this time. Not fussed by spending thousands on a massive suite or top end hotel as we will only use it for sleeping in! I like being near the strip and walking distance to a monorail station is bonus.

Done the usual suspects, Excalibur, Luxor, Mandalay etc... so looking for some inspiration.

Haven't been for a few years, the Aria was under construction when I was last there and looks good. MGM grand seems to have all the bases covered too, just wanted to see what other options folks could throw out there?

Thanks all!

SEMA is held during the week. Hotels are cheap midweek in Vegas so choose whatever. I stayed in a 'Stay Well' Grand King room at the MGM for 3 nights midweek a couple of years ago for about $50 a night.

Check out the rates for Bally's. It's situated right in the middle of the Strip area and is usually reasonably priced. It also has a Monorail stop so is convenient for the Convention Centre.

On our way to the Grand Canyon we stayed one night in LV at Paris - big king room on the 32nd floor with a view of the strip and was $65. LV wasn't for me but I thought that was fantastic value.

hotels are not expensive for what they are even top end. if you want budget though id give the newly refurbed (should be in 2018 anyway) Park MGM a go... its the new name for Monte Carlo, which was a st hole but its completely being re done so should be decent and still budget.

Are you in the industry as SEMA is a trade only show according to their website?

I'm not sure Park MGM will be as cheap as the Monte Carlo was, they've got to re-coup the investment somehow and why bother re-branding if you aren't planning on going upmarket?

I stayed in the MGM last year, It was OK but thought it was too big. We spent more time in New York New York. We liked the entertainment in NYNY, mainly the Piano Bar they have, just like Times Square. The food court and other bars was also good in there.

MGM Grand is decent enough and pretty cheap from experience.
