Had a fantastic week in Toronto. I liked it far more than I expected. Had a really nice feel to it, even in the winter, and overall it seemed like a good balance.

My slight reservation is the lack of easily accessible 'nature' (for want of a better word). I don't do loads of camping but I do try and get out pretty regularly for a night in the hammock or what ever. Vancouver obviously provides much quicker access to this kind of thing.

Thanks for all the recommendations of Toronto, without them here and from others I think I would have just gone to Vancouver. Now I think I will give Toronto a shot in the summer and see how I get on.
PM me if I can be of help

I have been living in Toronto for the last 6 months and have absolutely loved it.

The pools for the under 30s visa I am on opened again last week. If you are eligible and tempted I would highly recommend it.

Glad you enjoyed it. Big fan of Toronto, especially in summer and you have had a good one this year.

Nearly popped over for a weekend about a month ago to catch up with some mates and the flight price was remarkably cheap (even compared to usual) with only 10 days or so before it was due to go. That's something you wouldn't have with Vancouver and nor the 7 hours easy jaunt back and forward.

The summer was superb here. Really good fun.

I went home for a couple of weeks to work in November. Like you say a pretty easy trip and not expensive. I'm debating Christmas and even that isn't too expensive - about $1200 direct at the moment.

I expect I will apply for PR.
