You can always do a short weekend trip with the boys whilst still with family.
I’ve had years where I simply couldn’t take leave at Xmas half term or Easter so frankly couldn’t go skiing with the family no matter what - so I do go without as and when.
You can indeed, and there are companies who cater for skiweekends wink
I wonder do they do setups where like minded people can go - it’s not easy ranging leave with work and friends. Likewise some friends can be very good or very novice so you’d likely see them a few times in the day
I joined the Ski Club of Great Britain for this. Perfect for a single traveler - you can either get allocated in a same-gender twin room, or opt for a single room. You're grouped into similar abilities and all meet up and dine together in the evenings. Options for week-long trips and long weekends. Options include on-piste, off-piste and touring holidays. Options include club staff guided, qualified tuition or professional mountain guides. Usually 3-4 star hotels.

Thanks for this post. I just joined up and booked a short trip to Davos for December as a single traveler. Should be fun.....

Thanks for the replies, will go for Flexi on the way home.

I’d love to be down there to get the kit on Friday night, but with the family, not going to happen!

The idea of leaving Friday night is definitely going to get a look.

To whet the appetite. This morning at Diavolezza (Engadin St. Moritz)

Shared the slope with the Swiss Ski team. First time for a long time I've been the worst skier out.

Time I joined in (if I haven't already, can't remember!)

Tignes in December booked and paid for. Saalbach in February on the cards. And I've had an offer from someone to join him in the PdS which I would love to take up, annual leave depending.

He has to take a carer onto the slopes with him as someone needs to phone for the bloodwagon......hehe

What’s the predictions on snow fall this season?

Last year was peak El Nina so logically should have been max winter and it was, Will this year be much less snow or not?

Looking at Bansko whole mountain and currently there isn’t any snow what so ever anywhere and 10+ degrees at the mid Station.

We're looking to go away for Christmas but will leave it to the last minute to decide where. I'd like to go back to Austria. We did something similar last year and went to La Plagne and even managed to get snowed in the resort for an extra day.

Great, I'm sure you'll enjoy it. I'm a bit hooked now on their off-piste opportunities.
A long weekend to San Martino di Castrozza (Dolomites) booked, and hoping for a space on a Val d'Isere trip.

So I've gone from thinking I wouldn't get away this winter to having a week in Ellmau, Austria booked for mid January, blagged a spare room in my sisters chalet in Meribel mid February and may be going to Japan end of feb/beginning of March for some powder hunting. Not a day so far!

Difficult to ascertain whether that's encouragement or further deterrent!

Do you remember the name of the chalet you stayed in?

We stayed in a hotel, the Hotel Belle Plagne. Previous year at La Plange we stayed in Hotel Le Vancouver. Both were fine. Think I gave each a 4/5 review on trip advisor but neither was great enough that we'd go back to the same place.... on the other hand we always go back to the same hotels in Courchevel 1850, Tignes and Val Thorens so are probably a bit, err, boring biggrin

I had some guests stuck up there last year due to snow, wondering if you were the same person/people. That's all.
