Road trip to Italy in my 599
Discussion
Going on a driving holiday to Italy in my 599. I live near Exeter so thinking of getting the ferry from Portsmouth to Caen or should I do Dover to Calais? then drive down to Florence then amalfi coast. My idea is to take 3 days driving down along the east of france calling in on a friend in Geneve then on to Turin etc. Then on the way back putting the car on a train as we have 10 days max available and want to enjoy Italy for a week. Any advise very welcome.
If you want a variation, Plymouth to Santander then through the Pyrenees via Pau and Lourdes is a great trip. On to Montpellier then Monaco and into Italy. Rapallo and Portofino then onto Milan / Monza.
We did that route a couple of years ago in an Aston Vantage, heading back via Lake Como and around the North of Paris via Epernay and the Champagne Route. Home via Le Havre - Porstmouth.
It can be quite a trudge through the middle of France.
