Are they definitely flying out of T5? Some BA flights depart from T3 now.
Appreciate the continued responses. Yes, they're flying out of T5. But they are coming into T3, but their onward outbound is T5

The transit to C gates, staying on, then coming back is the way forward. I've just spoken to a colleague, they've done the same before with no issues, so will do that.

Sure. Nothing sinister. I'm interviewing for role at a new company, we've had a couple of phone interviews and a face 2 face in london with a couple of VP's. Looks like I'm in pole position to get the role but the MD of the company wants to do a final face to face. The guy holds an Iranian passport and is currently travelling in Canada and is returning in June back to Tehran, transiting through LHR. He doesn't have a valid UK visa as his one has expired, so, either take the opportunity of meeting him while he's in transit for a couple of hours, or wait 4-6 weeks until he gets his visa and we meet when he comes to the UK. This is just an opportunity to expedite the process a few weeks, but not the end of the world if it doesn't happen.

Interesting story. Good luck with the role.

Sounds like a good test, shows good initiative and desire if you pull it off. Good luck!

Presumably you would've gone too far through the process for any ticket refund to be available if you don't fly, even on a full fare ticket?

Cancelling a fully flexible ticket (One which allows changes free of charge) with BA costs £15, though I don't know what happens if you are already checked in.

Not on a full fare fully flexible ticket - even if you never go to the airport or decide not to fly after checking in they are refundable.
BA will still charge you the cancellation fee though.

Sounds like a good deal to me! £15?!

What’s to stop you doing that to hang out in the Concorde Lounge for a while?

Not a lot. Petty sad though - It’s ok but not amazing. Plus you would have the cost of your 1st ticket tied up.

Not if you've booked within the last 24 hours though hehe

Yep - done it many times.
Why? (If you don't mind me asking...) Presumably it's not in an official capacity if you're sneaking back the unofficial way?

I have been pretty impressed when I’ve had use of the Concorde Lounge. Most of my BA flying from London has gone out of T3 however.

Certainly beats anything in T3 or other lounges I have used around the world.

As a place to be when you have to be in airport I agree. But I wouldn't go out of my way to be there.

It works fine, my wife did a few years back to buy me a watch in the Terminal and save the 20%. You can also take the tram out to B or C and walk back through the service tunnel which runs between the two lines. Point to note, it is further than you may think as I did it one morning when there was a huge queue, took me an age.

The new Qantas lounge at T3 is pretty close to the Concorde lounge at T5. The gin bar downstairs is a particular highlight.
