Scuba diving in Turkey
Discussion
Interested to see what people say. I was in Ölüdeniz last year and tapped up a couple of local schools.
I've got about 200 dives in murky UK waters so fairly confident in the water. All the schools were booked up. Mostly doing 10-40m boat dives. Cheap as chips... But..
That part of the world attracts Brits, Germans a and lots of people from the Eastern Bloc.. The latter are absolute nutters! I'd heard stories from dive buddies here. Not exactly known for their dive safety or respect for diving within their limits if they had the ticket to start with.
See if you can get a recommendation from someone in the UK unless you like a challenge. No bugger would have sorted me out if I had a problem and that includes the Divemaster.

I hear what you say.
We have been going to 2 dive schools.
One based in Icmeler, the other based in Marmaris.
Having done so many dives with both of the both of them, we do know them well on first name terms.
Fortunately, we have only dived with good buddies, ie, 3 of us together, myself, my wife, nad our buddy diver friend from either dive school.
We have done a few deeper dives, but even then, they were only briefly to 25 meters.
So how would you say Ölüdeniz is ? much to see there ?
I start to feel Marmaris and Icmeler have a rather boring seafloor now, little in the way of bright coral, very limited fish below 10 meters, and only 2 wrecks to visit.

How about Dalyan? Beautiful place, quite unspoilt, lots to see and do aside from the diving, and only 30 mins from Dalaman airport.
I don't dive, but know quite a few who do (we're regular visitors there), they tell me it's very good.

Dalyan forum on Trip Advisor is a great place to ask questions - many local residents for excellent advice.
