Went to Croatia last year and Italy this, after some suggestions of travel agents, resorts, destinations etc.
Just the wife and I, late forties, budget is 2 grand for preferably 10 days but can stretch a bit, prefer short haul.
Prefer no kids, not self catering and not all that fussed on all inclusive.
Used Thomson for the last couple of holidays, they have been good but not sure on whether can get more for your money.

Yeah, went to Mexico in 2015 and enjoyed it but dont fancy ten hours on a plane, I think Greece is looking a good option.

Very quiet area but nice hotel, we happened to get a apartment with a private pool, which was nice especially as we booked a standard room!

Another vote for Mexico unless you really don't want long haul. We did it with a 2 year old so the flights should be less stressful with just adults. We went to Bahia Principe (Coba) but Akumel was more adult friendly. Kids were still allowed but they had no child zones like the infinity pool area. There is an adult only one on that resort called sian ka'an but I suspect that will be out of budget.The Greek islands are lovely, could get a nice hotel and hire a car for a few days out easily within budget. I Like Kefalonia.
