It’s only one 200 pack each - no big deal really and i think it saves my colleagues £30 each. Seems a bit harsh not to get them wen it doesn’t cost me anything.
Except the risk to you is the cost of those cigs being impounded. The limit is 200 total. UK customs are all over this and are scanning luggage as it comes off the plane from high risk areas. First offence is seizure. Second can seizure + fines.

You might get lucky.
Sorry, I’m possibly missing something. There are 4 of us over 18 (me, Mrs C and my 2 eldest). AIUI we can each bring through a carton of 10pkx20, and each carton is £60-£70 cheaper than in the UK.

What are HMRC going to impound? confused

We recently went to Side as my missus used to go with her family as a kid. Luckily I can speak German as we would have been stuffed at our hotel otherwise, only one English speaking member of staff in the ten days we were there. We just wanted a cheap 10 days away as it has been a full on 18 months for us and it didn't disappoint. There were a few Russian's and they were actually nice people, especially compared to the ones we've encountered in Barbados and Mexico!
Similar here - we can only stay 6 days because of my youngest (school half term) and eldest (due to being in court) and it’s been a while since we’ve all been away together. Language wise ttaff English is ok but fortunately I know the basics of German and my youngest is very good (funf biere schnell bitte biggrin )

Nothing, you're allowed 200 each smile I accidentally had 40 in my hand luggage I had forgotten about as well, as I smoke when I'm on holiday and they didn't take them off me.
Cool thumbup

Ive decided to find the nearest carrefour to maximise the chances of the cigs being genuine.

I misunderstood - yes you are fine with that.
beer

Ok - a Turkish shave in the hotel is €15 apparently- how much is it likely to be in town and is there any risk of ending up with hepatitis or septicaemia?

Hmmm... well, I had a shave and a haircut.... 130TL frown

Can’t really complain about the quality and to be honest I was in a bit of a rush so I CBA haggling or shopping around.;Head shave, face shave, eyes/ears/nose all trimmed/waxed/singed. Maybe a lesson for next time if I’m supposed to be paying nearer 15Tl. smile

Cigarettes were quite cheap - 550Tl for 3 sleeves of Marlboro red, and boxes of Turkish delight were 30TL each. It was surprising that Carrefour were as cheap as the tourist market stalls. Weirdly the market stalls seem more expensive than the shops and less willing to haggle.

Anyway, thanks for all the advice. Back in merrie old England in a couple of days smile
