Bit of a thread bump ... but given British airways have a flight sale on, along with booking a hotel and it seems £1000 will get two of us return flights and a hotel for 3 nights in NYC

Questions

Is it worth booking breakfast in the hotel or better to eat out ?
Any recommendations on hotels (the one on BA was in times square)

We plan on visiting in December because, well because its Christmas
Go out for breakfast, there are hundreds of fantastic places to go over the stuff hotels serve up.

I've been twice now and on the second occasion stayed at the Sheraton Times Square. Nice enough hotel but I didnt like the location as it was so busy as soon as you step outside. We were on the 48th floor, all good until the helicopter crashed into the building next door...

The first place we stayed and the one we're returning to in December is the Intercontinental Barclay. Its not huge and in a really quite area but still only a few blocks away from 5th Ave, Rockerfeller etc. BA do it, we cant wait to go back at the end of the year smile

That's when I went the first time. Just make sure the Rockerfeller tree is up and lit when you go as it's awesome. We went to the lighting ceremony as it was turned on the day we got there in 2018.
