I'm sure I've seen one of those crash site photos (the first one) before and think it's in the USA. Can't remember where though.

There was great documentary on not so long ago but almost certain it isn't the plane that crashed carrying 2 atomic bombs as it was scattered over a mountain in North America IIRC.

The trees are all deciduous though that doesn't help pin it down, does it?

Main reason you can't claim it is because the '64 crash is the wrong one smile

This one was in 1963.

Only reason I knew it wasn't was because I knew the mountain area was fairly barren and they didn't look like "mountain" type trees to me wink

Nah, there's only been c20 B52 crashes and I bet not all of them were carrying nukes.

Oh I know the animal - it's a rock lobster

(couldn't resist that....)

I'm sure I've seen a TV programme on the crash site. The thing is, I'd have to go with Kenty and say north East US. Sort of Maine, Rhode island sort of way, up in that corner. It's the trees, they don't look right. Managed forest, or a well maintained site indicates easier access.

I reckon this is good enough. Elephant Mountain near Moosehead Lake, Maine. It’s a sinister place to go - anyone gets the chance go for it.

It’s a winner!
