My wife and I went up there about 6 years ago to celebrate our wedding anniversary , there were a lot of kids wearing hoodies that would constantly ride around you on push bikes in large gangs.
We went for our anniversary meal came out of the restaurant and within 20 seconds one of these scrotes rode by snatched her handbag and rode off at pace.
They had her spending money bank cards etc.
There was cctv everywhere that caught the incident. Police weren't interested even after viewing the footage. Land lady said it happened all the time.
We came home following morning wife cried all evening as so upset.
We will never return to the place.
I'm sorry to quote a post from 2 years earlier but I can't get over the fact you went to Blackpool for a wedding anniversary??

Blackpool, home of the 'GR8' Hotel.

Maybe they couldn't use the word 'Great' as it would have been against advertising standards.

I had the t-shirt ripped from my back by a baying hen party group there and thankfully it is the only place I had witnessed a person gaffer taped naked to a wheelchair as his mates forcibly poured drinks down a funnel into his mouth.
Sounds pretty mega tbh!

...........

As long as I had somewhere quiet to sleep once I got too drunk!
The guy in the wheelchair was out of it eventually, still didn't stop the drinks and saved him walking to the bar! No idea what the plan was if he needed the toilet.

last time I was there the inland streets of hotels and B&Bs were roamed by aimless eastern-european desperados.

i much prefer the east coast resorts, whitby, scarborough, a bit more bracing and genteel.

Maybe it held a special memory....first time he'd taken her up the Tower...something like that.

The thing about Blackpool is it's a brash Northern resort, where you can wear Kiss me quick hats and have your palm read by Gypsy Rosalee, who has faded pictures outside of when she read the palms of 19 year old Cliff Richard, Len Fairclough, Mike and Bernie Winters, Simon Dee etc.

Genteel it ain't.

You know what you are getting when you go there.

I used to go as a kid in the 1950's, it was usually heaving, you could hardly see the sand on the beach because of the deckchairs , then cheap foreign holidays to Majorca for £40 took over.....

It's not too bad along the front, they have spent millions, but go around the back streets away from the beach and it's a different story, run down properties which have seen better days.

Ah yes, that much delayed c*ck up by the council that has resulted in an already massively expensive tramway extension being delayed by years for what is little more than a few hundred metres of track.

Here's the thing, I thought I knew. I didn't. It was far, far worse. And that was after I'd done Google streetview on our hotel parking and went directly to Halfords to buy a disclok for my steering wheel and a car cover to avoid unwanted attention.

That's a shame, but why take all your money out with you?

The amount of money the council have received in government grants, the town should look like a palace.

People arriving at Blackpool north are just going to throw their luggage in the back of a Taxi and go direct to hotel.

That small section of track is a complete waste of time.
