Any brief ideas on where to spend 5 nights in Scotland in late September?

Have a few spare holidays and always fancied going up to Scotland, and I will have my car back all fixed by then to enjoy and (hopefully) get the roof down.

Want some nice scenery, some good walks but a nice pub to grab some dinner in.

Any ideas?

Coming from The Wirral so anything above Fort William I think may be too far for the time frame.

Cheers!

You have 5 nights. Fort William is 2 1/2 hrs from Glasgow.

Anyway, keep West and get past Fort William and everywhere is stunning. You can see a lot in 5 days.

Yup, keep West.

Tighnabruaich is lovely and the Kames Inn is smashing for food.

Portavadie marina is nearby and a nice place to stay or visit. The outdoor infinity pool is awesome.

Failing that, Skye is an obvious choice, or any of the other West coast islands.

We stayed with 3 dogs in a lodge at the Portsonachan Hotel near Inverary. Good service, attached restaurant is really very good and not overpriced, nice walks with the dogs etc.

Address: South Loch Awe Side, Portsonachan, Dalmally PA33 1BJ

Kenmore/Aberfeldy on the Tay is lovely and very dog friendly.

Loads of walks, and it's mandatory you take your dog into every pub/restaurant you go in.

Braemar? Cracking walks in the Caingorms, everywhere is dog friendly and you get to drive the A93..
