Hello All,

My daughters boyfriend has finally gotten around to passing his driving test and is now looking for his first car. Been a while since I've looked at this kind of budget so would appreciate peoples views on a few possibilities. All cars are 2010MY and have < 80k miles

- Renault Megane 1.6 VVT
- Ford Focus 1.6 Zetec
- Seat Ibiza 1.6 Sport
- Honda Civic 1.8 Type-S

Any other similar cars worth considering? Have looked at Swift Sport, Twingo Renaultsport etc. but too small and sparse for his liking despite being good fun.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Is he only after hatchbacks?

Needs the practicality for work reasons, lots of choice in budget and seem to be cheaper to insure than saloon/coupe versions.

Seat Leon 1.4 TSi Sport , I still love the look of the MK2 Leon personally though it is fairly divisive and the TSi is a nice engine .

Ask the insurance man first, he might take a couple off the table, first car with no experience.....
