The other TUI refund thread seems to have been locked/removed.

We had a trip booked departing Apr 11th - phoned and requested a refund Apr 1st (thanks to a poster on the other thread for sharing a working phone number). This was received Apr 24th. Happy days, as I was concerned we were going to lose it (£6k).

I suspect this money is going to be spent on a larger splashpool for the garden and a new driveway. Can't see us going away this year frown

Good stuff. By that logic I should hopefully get mine back this week as the last refund email I got was the 3rd!

Do you have that working phone number? My trip was meant to be 18th March and still not got anything back. Thanks!

I think it was 0203 451 2720. It looks like I spent just over an hour on the call.

All numbers now just saying ‘we are very busy and unable to take your call at the moment’ and hanging up. Ace. Getting a little bit frustrated now!

I managed to get through on Monday after 1.5 hours listening to how they "Cross the T, dot the I and put U in the middle" biggrin

Apparently I have now been added to a spreadsheet to process my refund (why wasn't this done 5 weeks ago?). They are apparently working through this spreadsheet daily.... other than that it was a pretty useless phone call. Wont hold my breath...

Has anyone had one of these credit vouchers yet?

Email from First Choice today.

My holiday is cancelledbiggrin

So I'm getting a credit note that is ATOL protected (but I want my fking cash back) and because I'm a "valued customer" I'm getting 20% added (oh, thats got me thinking....). Has to be used by Oct next year. The extra 20% isn't ATOL protected and has to be used at the same time as the main credit so will basically be used by many for upgraded seats/rooms etc

Now we are quite likely to simply book the same place next year but wont book anything at the moment.

Also read those FAQ's, that 20% bonus isn't all it appears to be. At the moment I'm erring towards taking a refund

I also got my 20% off, the hotel I booked was £1100 all in for 2 weeks, the same hotel a few weeks later is now £1450 for 2 weeks half board? So they’ve just jacked up the prices?!

Just did some quick sums.

So this year I got an online discount, a discount and a promotional discount. Phew! A lot of discounts and they add up to 21.6%. First Choice are kindly laugh giving me an added 20% credit note but it can't be used with other discounts wobble

So do I take the usual 21.6%? Or their kind offer of 20%? Tough choicelaugh

To add to that the same holiday next year is 15.1% more expensive. Me thinks I'll be taking a cash refund

So does this mean you've had credit notes and your 20% vouchers through? If so, when was your holiday originally booked for?

The second part of my deposit is due today. I originally booked via one of their shops over the phone so I have no option to pay on line, even if I wanted to. I don't intend to spend ages in a queue on the phone for the privilege of paying them some money I'll have to battle to get back later in the year, so I'll see if they call me.

I've had nothing other than a refund email after I first contacted them on the 16th March. Due to fly out on 18th March.

We want to gamble and rebook for Greece in Sept. Price is ok at the mo but we are still waiting for the credit for the cancelled holiday.

Had an email saying we were getting it but won't be too happy if it turns up and all the Greece holidays have gone up or gone.

Saw that the head of the Canaries wants it ready for holidays by July but he also mentioned that Brits would be at the back of the queue due to the UK's woeful handling of the crisis.

We could well be the lepers of Europe, thanks UK Gov.

Just checked my Paypal this evening and finally pleased to say I have the full amount refunded. Checked earlier today and there was nothing so must have just come in. Phone call other day seems to have worked, so many thanks to Chris Type R for the number clap

So unless anything changes in the next 90 minutes they've not even managed to keep their promise of issuing our voucher by May 1st.

In the meantime free child places have basically vanished for next easter and prices have increased even further.

I'm glad it worked out for you smile I can't take any of the credit though as it was another poster who shared the number originally.
