Sounds the complete opposite to my two flights in the last week. Had the misfortune of the family from hell in front. Who wouldn’t wear masks. Who moved seats during take off and stood up during landing. Whos kids were drawing on the seats and throwing the safety cards around. Who wouldn’t put the phones on flight mode. Who were watching videos loudly without headphones. Who were arguing with people at the other end of the plane. Who refused to fill in the passenger locator forms. How they were allowed on the return flight I do not know.
I can picture them perfectly. Scratty rough looking wildebeest of a wife that's constantly loud and argumentative with everyone, thinks it's her right to let her kids do whatever they want cause "'Ow dare you tell me 'ow to to raise my kids" and an equally scratty meathead of a husband covered in st tattoos he got whilst drunk in Benidorm back in 2005.

Felt sorry for the kids- parents pushing them around very roughly. Turned out later the parents couldn’t read or write well enough to fill out the locator form.

Sad thing is the kids will likely end up just like them, through no fault of their own. As much as it would annoy the hell out of me, I don't think I'd say anything as I wouldn't wanna give young kids a bad memory of their holiday. Hope you managed to somewhat enjoy the flight

One of kids, lad aged 9ish I’d guess, was better behaved than the adults. The younger kid who was scribbling on the seats was using a pen lent to the parents by the stewardess to fill out the locator form. The parents refused to get it back off the girl when another passenger needed it, so the boy did in the end.

It had any time away from home this year, and the Canaries in a fortnight we have booked off in mid- November now presents an opportunity. However wife working in NHS means risk of quarantine on the return (which is still possible) makes it chancy. We’ll see, but I suspect we’ll be taking our chances with the weather in Skye!

We were in Furteventura when the island went into lockdown in March.

All the islands residents were being very respectful and taking great care to avoid close contact with each other. We're in touch with friends who live there and they tell us that's still the case now and there's been very few cases of Covid on the island and those have been in Peurto del Rosario so the islands resorts and remote villages should hopefully remain safe.

Only difficulty now of course is mixing it with dirty scumbags in airports and on aircraft traveling there and back.

We were toying with Feurtaventura last night when we heard the news.

She works from home so quarantine no problem but now that's been lifted even better for most but my work has a rule of any foreign travel and you must quarantine (well at least not allowed in the building) for 14 days.

We are temp checked at security in reception and now have to wear those bloody masks all day long as well as signing something to say we have not been abroad.

Guess I could lie and say I went to Dartmoor but how would I explain the tan (or in my case sunburn).

What is the procedure on arrival in the Canaries, everyone tested?

I see from above that catching it on the plane is a far higher risk than on a holiday island in the sun.

So, still too many variables thus another over priced hotel in the UK booked to see more stte weather hehe

Was looking at flights to Fuerteventura for March next year. Was just over £40 return pp and has now increased to £115 return pp since there travel news. I should have just booked it rather than check with my girlfriend and just said we’re going these dates. laugh

Last night we had police officers knock on our door to check to see if we were self isolating.

Bugger.

Was just thinking yesterday. Why not go to Fuerteventura and work from there for a few weeks. Could get most of things done in the morning and then handle the odd call in the afternoon. With a decent internet connection most people wouldn't even know I'm there.

Flights were £10. Found a great little apartment with decent balcony right overlooking the sea. £350/week, perfect. Was going to discuss it with the Mrs last night and then on the way home Bang, it's all open again and the price of the apartment has tripled and prices of flights have shot up.

Pleased for the local economy out there though.

Yeah bookings are going through the roof for the canaries now. You might find it stabilises as airlines put more flights on though?

Quarantines make a huge difference to people’s willingness or ability to travel.

Furtevtentura is the island of choice for many German and Scandinavian holidaymakers too.

Is it off the quarantine on return list for just UK travelers or the whole of Europe?

On the bright side my shares in Ryan Air have also shot up. Another 2p and it'll be time to check out. Won't make enough to cover the increased cost of a holiday mind, wasn't brave enough buying in. We're all generals after the battle.

Each country has their own rules regarding quarantine. I’m not sure it was on quarantine for mosot other European countries. Obviously rules in each country constantly change though. Germany for instance had different quarantine rules for different parts of Spain and the canaries like we now have for Greece.

Regional quarantines as opposed to national ones moving to airport testing is what the airlines have been pushing for in the U.K. for a while now.

My plan to move my Easy Jet flight to the end of November just evaporated as that flight is now sold out.
I looked at changing my flights to January and with their £32 charge each way, it's cheaper to rebook than change the flight.

The Canaries are off the naughty list from tomorrow for Germany.

Hopefully it should settle down once the splash of bookings is over. Were you looking in Corralejo?

The internet can be hit and miss in some accommodations. I managed to take a video conference call there the other week, but I’m not sure the WiFi would have held up to working.

Tend to go down the other end of the island. Less brits abroad. We were out there a few weeks ago for a proper holiday so wasn't doing much work but had no issues with internet. Maybe because the hotel was empty we had all the bandwidth to ourselves.
