Well....having spoken to our insurance company and holiday company today we are committed to going France on 31st as it stands. I took out our holiday insurance on 1st March which it seems was pre-COVID clauses etc. and took out extra cover as I had a feeling things may go pear shaped. Glad I did now. We are well covered in the event of the brown stuff hitting the fan. (Tbh last year our daughter managed to smash her elbow to pieces falling off monkey bars so we are well experienced with holiday trauma!)
Glad decision is made now.

I have everything crossed for tomorrow.
Two weeks in the Lot valley at this place https://www.pagel-france.com/... been before... perfect for younger kids; can highly recommend.
102 days of lockdown with a 2 year old, a 7 year old and both parents working full time in non-furloughable jobs has frankly taken us to the absolute limit.
Flights are already booked.. as is hire car.

We're not going on holiday this year, but will be spending some time in Strasbourg as our eldest is moving there for Uni in August.
However, I've prepaid for 2 weeks in the Algarve, but not necessarily this Summer or even this year. Some friends own a villa / apartment business there and we can take the 2 weeks when we want in the next 2 years, or 2 separate weeks.
Their place is great as they offer transfers to / from Faro airport or station, and when you get to their place, they give you the keys to one of their 4 Fiat Pandas to use whilst you're there .... No tolls or insurance to pay, just give it back with a full tank.

That looks fantastic. Is it a case of contacting them for availability? Can't see anything onlineTwo weeks in the Lot valley at this place https://www.pagel-france.com/... been before... perfect for younger kids; can highly recommend.

Email them via contact page or enquiries@pagel-france.com. The guy who runs it is normally very responsive.it isn't cheap, but for kids 0-teen it is really, really good.
Edit: they have been reviewed in a few places online if you want independent reviews and happy to talk about it via PM.

This airbridge fiasco thanks to wee Jimmie Crankie having no understanding of/interest in the economy must now be having a knock-on effect on airlines and their appetite to run flights
The poison dwarf had the neck to accuse Boris of playing politics and undermining her authority with the announcement ..She has been playing politics for the last three months , playing off the Scottish assembly against the UK parliament .
At least Our trip to France is now on after months of uncertainty .
We are off to the Dordogne with our caravan , so still in bubble to a certain extent .
Eurotunnel was booked in January , and apart from a half hour change for the return shuttle time , the crossings are confirmed .
Halfway stopover in Chartres to be booked
Camping/caravan site confirmed. https://www.camping-laplage.fr/
This is around the 20th year we have been there
This trip is important to us , as for the first time we are taking our grandson , and the highlight for him will be a visit to Normandy for a few days on the way back .

Logged into Easyjet this morning and our flights to Malaga, from Stansted, are now cancelled. We were due to fly 22/07.
I think Easyjet will no longer use Stansted.Amateurish said:

Did you get an email or did you have to log in to the Easyjet site to find out?I have flights booked for 23/7 from Gatwick but they still say they are happening at the moment, though they are 'sold out' on the booking screen and don't appear on the flight schedules.

I didn't get any email, which was particularly annoying.I have flights booked for 23/7 from Gatwick but they still say they are happening at the moment, though they are 'sold out' on the booking screen and don't appear on the flight schedules.
Only by chance I logged in last night to check some details, and saw the message 'flight cancelled'.
Edit - just received the email now at 12:30.
