Did you get an email or did you have to log in to the Easyjet site to find out?

I have flights booked for 23/7 from Gatwick but they still say they are happening at the moment, though they are 'sold out' on the booking screen and don't appear on the flight schedules.
On past experience that doesn't sound too promising.

Logged into Easyjet this morning and our flights to Malaga, from Stansted, are now cancelled. We were due to fly 22/07.
I think Easyjet will no longer use Stansted.
The base is effectively closing but I think flights will still go from there ?
I'd guess that the majority of the flights from Stansted will no longer operate as a result.
I'd be interested to know. I live near to Southend airport and have enjoyed its recent expansion but with Southend on that list I'd assumed it didn't mean flights would stop but they'd just be withdrawing other non-operational ground staff. I guess I don't really know what it means when they call it a 'hub'.
In this sense hub means they have crew actually based there. The current proposal is to close Southend Newcastle and Stansted as bases and make all crew redundant but have the flights done by crew from other bases. Obviously if these bases are closing completely then there will be less flights though.

Some of the easyJet redundancy numbers are pretty horrendous but will possibly be reduced by everyone taking a pay cut etc. There’s big proposed redundancies at all the bases at the moment for pilots and cabin crew.

Cheers, makes sense. Southend seemed to be growing steadily over the last few years so I do wonder what impact this will have.

If they pull out completely presumably it will be pretty catastrophic for Southend. Not many other operators using it I expect.

On a related note, anyone know how Southampton is doing without Flybe? There were rumours that might have to close.

Not sure how the airport is doing, but Eastern Airways have re-started the Flybe route from Southampton to Manchester Airport.

As I've decided to take 2 weeks off at the end of August/into the first few days of September and the government has released the list of non quarantine countries that can be travelled to, do I risk a quick break to Croatia? I've seen flights as low as £43 to Split or £79 return to Dubrovnik.

Drove past it en route to Bournemouth airport 30 minutes ago and wondered how long it will survive. In the past I have used Soton a lot but when its only 30 mins extra to Bournemouth and the routes are more plentiful, I feel their days are numbered.

Here at Bournemouth its quiet. Everyone is masked, no shops open except one small cafe and it generally feels bizarre. As though its a cargo or military flight. Security was well staffed though and through in quick time to the main hall. Who knows when the premier lounges will reopen but thankfully few people with children along to have any need to escape from.

Anyone got a definitive answer to the position where the airline (easyJet) cancels you outbound flight but says nothing about the return leg??

They seem to treat them as two distinct bookings from a cancellation point of view. I had to apply for a refund separately for the outward and inward journey.

I had the opposite in April: Inbound flight cancelled so BA offered me a refund for the entire round trip and got it paid in 48 hours.

My Croatian neighbour, who got back last week after a couple of months there, reckons they're desperate for tourist cash so opening up fast. The islands naturally cut down movement though which helps keep their R0 down.

Think i’ll skip holidays 2020, won’t go until normality returns.
Had my fingers burned earlier in the year & my bank travel insurance tried every trick in the book to weasel out of paying.
Looked at this country. £1500 to be made unwelcome in Cornwall during Sep? Non refundable deposit on booking & pay the rest next week? A lot of opportunists going to prey on mugs unfortunately ..

Nationwide by any chance? It has taken my wife months to get the deposit for our skiing holiday back

Lots of places desperately trying balance cash flow as they bring staff staff back. Quite normal to pay balance within 6 weeks of it being due, so 8 weeks isn't a big stretch?

I'm worried about the welcome. Tried to find a cottage by the sea to take my boys away as they have been going up the wall.

Everything gone and then stuff at stupid prices.

Got a rundown looking terrace in a very locals village about 2 miles from a good surf beach.

Wondering how the locals are going to be?

I see Center Parcs are doing lodges for £700 for a long weekend. Down from over £1000. So good of them.

Hang on! The pool will be closed. Only flipping reason to go in my own opinion.

So one will be forced to pay inflated prices for other activities in order to keep the teens happy.

Or just take bikes, or go for walks off the premises? No-one is forcing anything, it isn't a prison camp (though there are similarities)

If you're going off premises at Center Parcs you're better off staying somewhere else. Your paying for the lodge, environment and pool in the price of the not cheap booking (maybe £200 a night very roughly speaking) so going off site doesn't make much sense to me.

Plenty of sub £1k static vans available on various sites in Cornwall. Some walkable to beaches.

At the end of the day it's somewhere to sleep and some of them are no different to a center PARC's lodge.

Worth a look.
