Looks like the Balearics are about to introduce fast masks to be worn at all times when you are outside, even if it’s just a single person.
FFS

I was going to book a trip to Majorca at the end of August, but not now. I do not fancy a holiday with two young children, all walking round with masks on.
Really? You’re basing a holiday in August on what one poster on PHs has said with no link to any actual rules or laws or anything?

Your article even says

“Face masks are not mandatory at the beach, at swimming pools, when carrying out sports activities, or at work unless people are working in public spaces or there is public access.”
Sound fun. Glad I cancelled now.

So what happened to Portugal?

Sure I read not long ago that they had done well and that those in charge had pointed out that they only had one land border to deal with.

Mind you, we have no land borders yet look at how they feked up here.
Not keen on the Brits infecting them probably.
Hopefully I get my money back and they cancel the flights.

They were all up for us going there, they even made a bit of a fuss when they were left off our list

So basically when doing anything touristy you’re good. Having a drink on the go seems to be the perfect way to exempt yourself. When you consider how many exemptions there are in there you do have to question the sanity of any such decree. Why not just say mandatory in shops which is about all that is left?

It is entirely sane, because it isn't about the virus and public health. It is about the potent combination of fear and politics.

No one got opinions and thoughts on the status of Turkey, flights to Dalaman and the coastline round those ways ? ears

Hmm also interested... seems to be one of the few destinations that TUI haven't screwed the price on.

Don't forget their tourist industry hasn't exactly been thriving in recent years and they are desperate to encourage more visitors.

This is good to hear.

Can I ask if there are toilets open at the terminal? Understand you're not allowed out of the car on the shuttle, and every year over the summer Eurotunnel can't manage the bookings so can queue for a couple of hours before even getting to check-in so in need of the toilet will likely be inevitable.

I suggested a she-wee for the car and an empty bottle to the other half, but that didn't go down well...
Terminal and it's loos were open. Queues non existent - from turning off the M20 to getting on our train was about 20 minutes

I'll be there at 5am tomorrow morning for the 5.50 crossing - hopefully that situation persists! Then a long drive to Beziers.

Jealous. Once you get onto the A75 autoroute la Méridienne you get some great scenery inc. Millau Viaduct and Beziers will be fast approaching.

Got a long 3 three week wait with the worry of a wave 2 lockdown which could jeopardise. Same route down, but a little further down to Narbonne.

Cheers, looks like I've timed this one brilliantly. Pure luck, I booked it last October!

Tui look to be starting Turkey flights (along with n Africa and Egypt) in September, might be earlier though.

Haven’t seen much information from others about turkey though. Seems like it’s in the second group of destinations for most U.K. operators after the July restart to Spain, Greece and canaries etc

Nice to see U.K. operators taking off this morning and easyJet, Tui, jet2 etc all heading off to the canaries, France, Balearics and mainland Spain etc Greece all starting up in a few days too.

Summer holidays 2020 are officially happening.

TUI are selling Turkey breaks from the 1st August. Can't find anything earlier than that.

We're heading to a similar area - Souillac. Any tips on good things to see/do would be welcomed!

We're having a stop at Tours on the way down and Le Mans on the way home, it's a bit of a slog with the caravan on the back!
Rocamadour is around half an hour from Souillac and worth a look.

It's a bit touristy wink

Saint-Cirq-Lapopie is another option, a bit quieter.

The Dutch have dropped the UK from Orange (only essential travel) to Yellow (some risk) today, so no self isolation needed after travelling. Which means I can go to the UK at some point, probably won't be until autumn now though.

Not a summer holiday, but booked flights to Spain for October half term. Seemed pretty cheap at £260 for 4 people.
