I think even Universtity Challenge allows answers to end in an upwards inflection.

'Italy' and 'Italy?', whilst one is a statement and one is a question, both serve to get the suggestion across for an appropriate answer.

Some photos are so specific that unless you'd actually been to that spot, and remembered it, it wouldn't be known by anyone here and the game would die. So sometimes you need questions to narrow it down, like '20 Questions', and give people a fighting chance.

it's a process of elimination Frank. There are many pictures that are obscure and it helps to identify the country first, and the process of elimination continues until someone is able to correctly name the location and/or building.

By guessing the country, this isn't the final answer!

So does the finder of the castle want a go? I have another castle lined up if not.

Is it a castle?

I assert that it is a castle.

As the only one response which doesn't have a question mark after it, i'll take that as a statement rather than speculation.

Not Spain (and, to be fair, it's a bit of a broad answer for a photo of a single building!)

EDIT - there is some speculation that is very warm. I think i'll hold out for someone to confidently state what the building is, before confirming either way...
I’m sure you’ll soon get accustomed to the spirt in which the game is played
Yes - narrowing down answers (with or without question marks) have always been acceptable as far as I can see.

Yep, thread acts as a collaborative brain and enjoys doing it. A bit like Arsenal in their pomp smile

Seeing as johnpsanderson is too busy to confirm what we already know, maybe someone else should post a pic.
Alternatively start another thread called What building am I looking at rather than Where was I?

Is it just me or am I getting deja vu again? I believe a few weeks ago we had the chapel at Goodrich castle and this is suspiciously similar......

This is NOT my answer, but as Goodrich castle has already been put forward, I don’t think that I’m treading on anyone’s toes when I say that I Googled Goodrich Castle when I saw that it had been mentioned, and if that isn’t the answer, then Goodrich Castle has a doppelgänger!

Bingo! A little-known castle near the Welsh border, snapped one misty December afternoon.

Hadn't spotted the chapel post.

Your go...
