Nope - someone else will put the ball in the net I'm sure smile

...although the name Harbury is in my head - likely completely erroneously

It's a clue but a bit of a red herring.

National airlines fly to and from their home airport.

The Porsche by the pepperpot is Burton Dassett Country Park, nice view from the top and not far from Gaydon

"A S G U L" on the back of the cart was the clue!

I thought it might be, hence the gulf guess, but had no idea where it might once have referred to.

That's right - but what has ASGUL got to do with Bahrain?

When I was 6 years old (1966) we went to live in India for my father's job. The flight to Bombay (as it was called at the time) were on BOAC VC10 aircraft which required up to 5 stops en route. I was at boarding school back here in the UK from the age of 9 and flights back to India in the holidays, depending upon routing, would stop off at any of Beirut, Bahrain, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Moscow, Cairo, Kuwait, Baghdad.

Aircraft Services GULf was bought by Bahrain Airport Services if I remember my googling.

Bahrain airport 1950 brought up the image that confirmed yours. I have a strange deja vu that we've had that airport on here previously too?!?!

Big adventure for a 6 year old!

Sorry have just spent 6 hours in the car, south Devon to Warwickshire. Normally 3!

First time I went to Singapore in 1977 flying facing backwards in an RAF VC10 trooping flight we went via Bahrain but I think it was a bit more modern than the 1950s pic, then via Colombo. 24 hours of discomfort!

Whose house please?
