this is the best value in my opinion but abit far away from sea and stuff but great as a base to travel about, should be some proper bargains about now

Not sure if you will find log fires and cosy places in current situation open, maybe wrong.

It’s what this place was built for https://www.thecornwall.com/special-offers
Close to Charlestown and Mevagissey. Probably booked up solid though.

That's a nice hotel. Stayed there once, loved it, but the breakfast was almost cold. Wrote to them afterwards and said, lovely hotel but you might want to know that your breakfast is a bit of a disappointment - no response. https://www.stmichaelsresort.com
Pity, and good shout otherwise.

The Greenbank is a very nice hotel. Wife and I have stayed there many times ( last time was in September and incidentally is very CV19 aware) and we'll be there for 5 nights next month. It is located on the waterfront overlooking Falmouth Harbour and maybe 5-10 minutes into the town (not a particulary nice town IMO). If you do opt to stay there, two tips: try and get a sea/harbour view room, although the other rooms are all good, and when booking join the Captain's Club so that you can park outside the hotel in a reserved space on their property because parking is limited, and on street parking just about non existent. Also, I'm sure that they do not have a spa and I certainly would not describe The Greenbank as a boutique hotel.
Reference has been made to The Idle Rocks at St Mawes which is indeed owned by David Richards. That hotel is also very good, quite small, and St Mawes is a much nicer town than Falmouth, althought it's a lot smaller with far less faciltities. Could be describes as a boutique hotel. Can get a reguar ferry from St. Mawes to Falmouth which always makes a change.
Reference has also been made to St. Michael's Resort. This is perhaps the best facilitated hotel in Falmouth, overlooks the sea, and is maybe 20 minutes walk from the town centre. I've always been put off of staying there because of its reputation out of season to be full of persons of an older age
I suggest that you have a look at The Nare at Veryan-in Roseland. Probably Cornwall's best hotel, lovely location, has it's own beach, perfectly relaxed attitudes etc.
If you really want a boutiqque style hotel, have a look at The Driftwood Hotel at Portscatho. It does have a good reputation as a perfect hideway hotel etc. We have not stayed there.
If you are going to stay in the Falmouth area and you want ideas about restaurants etc, just ask. Wife and I have been going to Falmouth at least twice a year always out of season for maybe 35 years to see family, so we should know the area pretty well!

I booked in online and there was no mention anywhere of it. I might drop them a line
Ari,I'm pretty sure that the hotel does not offer it when booking because there's a limited number of parking spaces that can be reserved. here's a link:

You need to know it is something that's available at the time of booking, I guess.
Wife and I arrive at The Greenbank 2 weeks today.

I've stayed in a couple of Pig hotels and they're great
The 25 mile menu is a highlight and the breakfast was one of the best I've had

We have plenty of parking at the hotel. We have parking along our layby and behind on our quay.
I think I'll wing it rather than pay £40 for a space with my name on it, a free newspaper and a window seat in the restaurant.
Yes, I overlooked the availability of the quayside parking. During this summer, for the first time I can recall, the hotel has had a marquee on their quayside in order to provide for outside covered seating etc and so the quay was not available. The marquee went earlier this month and released maybe 10 or so parking spaces that are there.I think I'll wing it rather than pay £40 for a space with my name on it, a free newspaper and a window seat in the restaurant.
They have maybe 8-10 bays immediately outside the front of the hotel and these are their reserved bays. They have maybe 10 bays in their layby some 50 yards up the road, and they have a garage which I have not used, then there's the quay. I do not think that this is 100% cover for the number of cars used by their guests, hence the need for trying to get parked in the road, which is nigh on impossible in my experience. Google Maps will show you where everything is and the on street parking fully occupied!
And I paid £25 per day to save me maybe hunting for a car space!
Enjoy your stay.
