The India stuff in the press at the moment is more scaremongering to give the government a continued excuse to stop people from travelling. Take a look at the average 7 day death rates in India by population, they have increased slightly recently but remain several factors below the UK’s! Time to open your eyes, this isn’t about a virus.
It really isn't. I have many colleagues in India and the situation is getting very bad in many cities. Death rates lag to infection rates. These are the cases; that curve is about as steep as it gets. Several cities have moved back to lockdown:
Our (non-UK) company banned all work travel to India for the foreseeable future.

Take a look at deaths by population from the same data source. In fact it easier for me to show you, here you go:

Well your first sentence there is verifiable rubbish, and your post goes downhill from that.
I'm looking forward to my summer holiday. In 2022. If I get one before then I'll consider it a bonus, not a birthright.
Firstly, if it’s verifiable then prove it. I'm looking forward to my summer holiday. In 2022. If I get one before then I'll consider it a bonus, not a birthright.

Secondly, when other than during a war situation has your freedom to travel been made illegal? It’s not a ‘bonus’ to be able to travel (as the government want you to believe) it’s a fundamental right that has been taken away in a completely undemocratic manner! Wake up to the propaganda you have obviously been taken in by!

Or, try the Harvard School of Public Health, Centre for Communicable Diseases maybe:
https://ccdd.hsph.harvard.edu/will-covid-19-go-awa...
It may become seasonal. It is not now.
I'm sorry to say that, in this exchange between us, it is perfectly clear who is taken in by false claims and narratives, and it is not me.
Once you have provided your counter evidence to the seasonality argument, describing how Covid is already a seasonal virus, perhaps you'll indulge us as to why the government are going to the effort of all this "Poroaganda" if there is little to no threat form this disease? What is the motive for this? You mention democracy - well sorry we were asked who shoudl ogver us in December 2019, and look who we chose. I didn't vote for them, I don't like them, but there it is. We'll get another say in due course. Were you expecting a referendum on an unforeseen matter of public health?
Shouting WAKE UP AND THINK FOR YOURSELVES SHEEPLE THE GOVVERMUNT ARE OUT TO GET YOU !!!!11111!!!11!! - is not an argument.

You are quoting cases, I quoted deaths. Please stop believing the case hype.

I didn't say you didn't. I believe the case hype in India from the data I see. Deaths are a lag to cases and some comment that India death data has also been under reported (many private hospitals vs state, inconsistencies, etc)Take a look at deaths by population from the same data source. In fact it easier for me to show you, here you go:
I hope you are right by the way - I don't want to see my many Indian colleagues losing loved ones, but sadly we will find out in about three weeks.
Either way, I wouldn't plan a summer trip there...

2 weeks in India, absolute bargain.

So, anyways.
Anyone booked any thing nice?
My wife and I are thinking of booking a few hotel based short breaks outside of school hols until we can travel internationally again.Anyone booked any thing nice?
Any recommendations for country/coastal hotels, perhaps something off the normal tourist list. Nothing special just clean and in reasonable condition. We prefer quiet locations.

The Pheasant in Harome (North Yorkshire) is very nice with outstanding food though may be creeping into special territory.Any recommendations for country/coastal hotels, perhaps something off the normal tourist list. Nothing special just clean and in reasonable condition. We prefer quiet locations.
