I would be there like a shot - no problem - absolutely love the Dordogne (to the extent I could easily live there). We were there last September with zero issues. Our France/Swiss road trip via Holland late June has now been cancelled two years in succession - France isn’t the issue but both Holland & Switzerland have made it impossible 😡

Just reading up on France for this summer. It looks like, as we are both double vaccinated, we and the children should have no problems going to France this summer and won't even have to quarantine on arrival.

Even allowing for 5 days to quarantine returning to the UK, looks like we're on for 7 weeks in the Dordogne

Lucky you. Our villa in France was booked for early July. Now rebooked for next August as both of my children will be at school next year.

If we had been able to book for August this year would probably have chanced it.

Assuming the rules are the same for Spain or Portugal we will just go there for a couple of weeks at the end of August.

Ironically our ‘forced’ U.K. holidays have had a much bigger virus risk than any European holiday would have. Hey Ho.

Frustrating for sure.

We’re not there yet, just feeling more hopeful. Ideally I’d like UK gov to relax the onerous testing requirements before I can really say “yeah, we’re going” to the kids.

My ex has been travelling around there for the past 6 months. According to her, there are 0 restrictions.

Villa deposit returned..... so only outstanding items to worry about are the Ryanair flights! Hope they cancel them but if not, probably just lose the £850.
Same here with trying to get £770 back from RA for flights to Italy we have booked for 14th July.

We booked them too early (Feb 2020) to take advantage of free change so will have to go for refund. Bought them on the CC if that makes it easier.

We are booked for Le Shuttle on the 16th July.

What are your thoughts on this scenario: my 2nd Jab is on the 3rd, the two-week requirement takes me to the 17th... so I've got a couple of choices:

- rock up on the 16th and hope they are just waving folk through without too much attention to the two-week rule.

or

- delay my holiday by a day, try and rebook the shuttle for the 17th.

If anyone has any insight into how checks are taking place on the ground that would be very helpful.

:/

The NHS App provides you with a Covid ‘passport’ and QR code, a couple of days after the second jab. Can’t predict though how diligent they will be on the 2 week rule.

Not the answer to the question you asked I appreciate, but have you tried rebooking the second jab earlier? For anyone over 40 it looks like this is now an option as I myself am keen to do so in anticipation of vaccine passports being a thing from next announcement and to avoid testing/quarantine.

Good idea. Some places will call you if they get a late vacancy, especially the surgeries.

I would change my booking if I couldn't get an earlier second jab.

I rebooked my second jab to be 4 weeks earlier than originally planned (I'm early 40s).

Hi. where have you been reading up? I ask as we are rebooked for 17th August by which time we will have hopefully had both our jabs. But what happens if one of you is fully jabbed and the other isn't? Thanks!

Just read that, but looks like to will be region dependent.

Andalucian Junta saying not before end of July at the earliest.

Bonkers having to wear masks outside, but reality is it doesn’t really effect me... if I go for a walk along the Paseo I do t have to wear one as it’s classified as exercise. Rest of the time it’s just getting from the car to the shop/bar/restaurant and then it comes off.

I don't think they'll let you book your second jab within/less than the minimum 8-week gap from first though will they?

I'm booked for the first day that is 8 weeks gap.

Hopefully this will hurry the government up into sorting out these nonsense “following the data” quarantine rules.

Got my dates mixed up. We booked 2/7/20.

Have to book flights leaving/rtn by end of Dec 21 to be eligible for free flight change otherwise over £550 to change our flights to July 22.
So we've decided to change them to Rome at the beginning of December for a city break. No charge to change.
Looked at the temps and will be 13-14 degrees which is fine for December and hopefully all restrictions will be lifted.
Now got to find accommodation for a family of 5 close to the city centre.
Want a hotel doing B & B and not too expensive. Any suggestions?
