That is still hurricane season, you need late November onwards but remember, you will be on a plane full of people for 7+hours.
Realistically, I would book Feb or March next year, I doubt I will see the inside of the office until the end of this year to say the least.
I know what you mean regarding weather, but have been several times to the Caribbean in September, and apart from the very impressive rain from the tail of a tropical storm, havn’t had many issues. We will have had our jags well before Sept, so not so concerned about that. As I said in my first post, I’ll be booking with my eyes open, and checking the cancellation terms.
Agree regarding the weather. We've been to the Caribbean in Sept/Oct before. Caught the back end of a tropical storm in St Lucia one year but would still go at that time again without a concern

I have a summer holiday booked in Cornwall that I'm fairly hopeful for.

I have a rebooted trip to Euro Disney in Easter which was meant to happen last year, I doubt very much that will come off.

I was looking at flights to New York for December and they are really cheap for Business Class but im just not confident enough o make a booking sadly.
I would want to punt out Disney to 2022 or suffer the cold and go late 2021. Whilst reports are limited on DLP as its shut, the parks in the US are a very different experience to what they would be pre covid times. DLP is meant to be re-opening mid Feb isn't it? As you say I doubt that will happen and even if it does, I think travel restrictions will still in place.

We re-scheduled our Butlins holiday from July to October in 2020. We liked Butlins (the kids especially), but would not go there in October again.

We have booked a week at a Haven Yorkshire in the first week in August for our summer holiday. I have never been to that part of the world and I'm looking forward to it smile

We would like to go somewhere else for a week in either October or My half term. our original plan was Jersey to see some family there, but I don't think we will be allowed to do that.

Will probably be another UK break somewhere, but don't know where. We want evening entertainment so Centre Parcs is out and I don't want to pay their prices either. October time is an indoor based trip or abroad IMO.

What are the odds that when Europe comes out of this wave, we see Vaccine certification travel only between countries ?
Clearly getting the vaccination out is the first priority, but I hope someone somewhere in government is working on this. As far as I am aware - and I’ll be delighted to be proven wrong - no cards or proof of vaccination are being issued just now. Presumably it is being recorded on some system, so can be turned into certification later?
Speaking to my friend in Germany, there definitely will not be any form of vaccination certificate there. The thinking is that this would prejudice one proportion of the population, which in modern Germany would be very unconstitutional. The emphasis is to reach a level where the majority of the population is protected.
I think it unlikely that any country will be issuing Covid vaccine travel certificates.

We had a holiday booked on Marco Island, Florida, for May 2020, which was obviously cancelled; we house swap so our friends couldn't travel either. Back then (April) we decided to book a week in Nice in September 2020 on the basis that things would surely be back to normal (naive, I know!). The easyJet flights were cheap so it wasn't much of a gamble...we ended up shifting them to June 2021.

In August last year our friends in Florida booked a cruise on the Rhine for May 2021and offered us their house for 2 weeks, so we booked some business class fares to Miami in the BA sale on the basis that things would surely be back to some form of normality. It now looks increasingly unlikely so the fall back will be Nice in June....

Ideally I'm hoping to go to Tampa for a week in late September/early October, dates mainly depend on when the NFL releases the team schedule which is in v early May. Quietly optimistic but will see what happens.

Booked last two weeks in June, Canary Islands, all inclusive, adult only, package holiday with Jet2.

Small deposit of £60 each, balance not payable until mid April.

Took out their travel insurance which includes Covid cover.

Will just keep that on the back burner now until the remainder is due. Hoping that there will be light at the end of the tunnel appearing by early April. If not we'll just forego the £120.

Not hugely bothered if we had to quarantine when we came home - we both WFH anyway now.

I was literally a nanosecond from pushing ‘pay’ on a family summer holiday to Ibiza last night, despite there being covid cover with the operator something inside of me said hold off frown

Not sure I could deal with disappointment of a cancelled holiday
We've got a villa in Ibiza 'reserved' for the half term holidays at end May/ start June. We've got until the end of March before any payments due, which we initially thought would be fine but then on Saturday we spoke to friends who live on the island and they advised that the vaccine rate has been hopeless so far.

Not doing anything about flights/ car hire until the last minute.

We've also got France booked for the end of August, which was last year's cancelled booking very kindly moved to this year.

I’m not pontificating, I’m close to booking our summer holiday to travel in August but I wouldn’t book to go abroad in March when, for example, EasyJet have cancelled all their flights until late March.

My original comment was that I think it is optimistic to hope to go on a foreign holiday in March.
A mate of mine just had his cancelled for.....June!

I think the situation and mindsets will very rapidly change in spring. Better weather, natural receding of virus, vaccine effects kicking in.

We have it all to look forward to this year guys!

We've booked Fuerteventura for the first two weeks in September, I reckon June might be a bit brave, hopefully I'm proved wrong.

I'd like to get away but won't be booking anything until closer to the time. My wife has a birthday trip with her friends in July that is rescheduled from last year. I would hope between the vaccine and the apparent seasonal nature of the virus things should be OK for the summer restrictions wise. I'd be less sure going into late autumn and winter of anyhting incase there is a spike new strains etc.

We had a really enjoyable holiday in Scotland last summer but got really lucky with the weather. Any change of scenery would be welcome right now!

Quick question... I heard something very briefly this morning on the radio - not sure which station as I only jumped in a car at work to move it - saying that some government minister said restrictions and the requirement to quarantine on the return to UK would last until the end of 2021.

I can't find anything on the news about this so did I hear the wrong thing or shall I just give up on 2021 now?

Booked a rental in France for August. T's & C's allow cancellation or rebooking if unable to travel or onerous conditions are attached to travel. Bookings are heavy as, along with the 'light at the end of the tunnel' factor, many people held their bookings over from last year to this year. We didn't do that and had a great two weeks or so. The 14 day quarantine on return was introduced whilst we were away but we didn't rush back as the impact on us was minimal.

If the restrictions are the same or less we'll be more than happy.

Not heard that. You'd expect worst case the travel corridors will come back, but with this government who knows?

I wouldn't abroad holidays at this stage simply because flight connection can change. And many will change.

Also the creativity of (mis)governments & lawmakers is impressive and with so many countries even across the EU that you cannot tell what combination of testing / vaccination / residence and more may be required.

I would imagine spring will be interesting as a few countries will be very advanced with the vaccinations.

Only thing i have booked currently is a rescheduled wedding from last year in June to Crete. I'm not even confident that will happen to be honest. I don't want to have a test or quarantine so I won't be booking a thing until you don't have to do that.

I can't be bothered to book, watch flights cancel or change and then go through the whole process of trying to get your money back. It's just not worth it.

I'm 30 end of July and if I can just have a meal out with no restrictions, that's a win

Pointless booking anything IMHO. I can’t help thinking this won’t be plain sailing.

We're hoping for Furteventura in the autumn too. We'll both be vaccinated long before then but are thinking any holidays before that will be a bonus and won't get booked until the last moment.

Yes, if its all looking bleak by when the balance is due in April we'll either just forego it or push it out to September, or later.

If we get away in June the plan would be to book something else for September / October time.
