Jet2 have updated their terms to now allow you to cancel for a full refund if your child is caught in the crossfire age (12-16)

However, you aren't allowed to cancel until 7 days before your departure date. We are due to fly on the 2nd Jan with the current restrictions in place until the 31st Dec.

Spain usually announce changes in advance, so you should know at least a week before the 2nd Jan if they are going to extend the Dec 21 rules in to Jan 22.

Thanks Phil, a weeks notice is good enough for us to be honest.

It was a total gamble making the booking in the first place but its been something to look forward to.

I think once the Spanish realise the impossible nature of these new rules on UK under eighteens they will change them, which if correct, will happen fairly soon.

Set up an email alert on the UK Gov Spanish Entry page and you’ll be pinged with any changes.

I hope your holiday goes ahead!

We're booked on a Jet2 flight to Lanzarote, how is the legroom compared to say a standard Easyjet plane?

I struggle on jet2 (6’4”) in standard seats and always book extra legroom. I would say it’s comparable to easyJet, the best standard legroom for me is Ryanair.

Ah okay I'm fine on Easyjet aisle seats, 6ft5 but only 34" inside leg so generally room for the knees.

We got 10 days in Tenerief from December 4th
We both double jabbed.
So on that front, we are good to enter Spain.
We both still need the going out PLF, and then returning PLF, which needs a "2 day" code" putting on the UK bound PLF.
Apart from that we now need to sort the "2 day test" for the day we arrive back,
We quite lucky to arrive back in UK around 15:00h, so still time to get the test done that day, adn get results following day at latest.
Because, now need to self isolate until the "Negative" result is received.
Tests still around for £19.99 each, 24 hour turn around.

Who with? All the cheap PCR day 2 tests I have seen are quoting 48 hours from receipt.

I wonder who will want to be buying?
Plenty of people in the Schengen area still buying in Spain, plus all those happy to be vaxxed 3 times a year forever!
We are, golden visa and beckams law is too attractive not to.
Are you becoming a tax resident in Spain? I’m yet to find a way of dealing with their wealth tax.
Yes, just buying a + 500k property as its a 2 week residency gurantee.

Beckams law means only wealth tax on spanish property & no tax on global wealth, well, not on other property owned outside spain, not sure on other assets.

We’re coming at it from france so even standard spanish tax (inc. wealth) would be considerably better, beckams law is an even bigger win.

My wife has & is currently speaking with 4 different specialists 2x uk side & 2 x Spanish side, immigration & tax (separately)

Trouble is Beckams law is only available for people employed in Spain by a Spanish company, not those who are self-employed or retired.

Not quite, a uk company can set up a spanish payroll, they dont need to have premisses or even need to trade a product in the country, but the company needs to have a minimum turnover & ‘x’ amount of employees, they dont allow a 3 man outfit to relocate one of their employees wink stops shilling companies.

No chance you’ll get those back in 24hrs. Put the code on the PLF, get home and crack on. They won’t and don’t follow this up. It’s all a charade

I am in the self-employed/retired category so doesn’t work for me. Plus, what do you do when the tax benefits end after 6 years?

Just be aware that many never receive back the result from these private tests. In my experience 30-40% of the time passengers aren’t hearing back at all and agree they are paying more for a reference number for the PLF than you are a test.

Ah, shame.. We wont be tax resident there in 6 years, so unimportant.

A "friend" of mine went away 4 times during the PCR test required period and each time entered the code from the first time he bought a PCR test (which he never got round to using) without any problems on return.

Just saying.

I’ve used the same, single code on 4 passenger locator forms, including both my parents forms.

It’s a massive con/swindle.
