Op I can meet you in Tewkesbury or Worcester. If you want a place to stay I can accommodate too and no you won't have to pitch your tent in the garden. Unless you want to that is.
Thats really generous Mr Spoon. I’m having a rest day in Worcester so have an airbnb sorted for 2 nights with my brother in law who's going to walk the next day with me. And I’ve already arranged Tewkesbury. If you’re free and fancy a lunchtime beer in Worcester though I’ll be doing a bit of sightseeing there on the afternoon of the 24th.Woke up in a field this morning with two horses for company. Best night out ever. Joking of course - not about waking up with the horses though.
Short walk along the Cotswold Way. First day using walking poles - they were essential and have been a useless appendage on my rucksack till now. Also first days walk in shorts and t shirt.
Got to Stonehouse then got a train into Gloucester. First Spoons since Taunton.
Tomorrow I’ll get a train back to Stonehouse and walk with my daughter back to Gloucester. Hopefully a pub lunch in Painwick en-route.

I can meet up with you in Cheddleton next Saturday if you like. I can bring any supplies you might need or give you any help required.
cheers. At the moment the only site nearby i have on my possibles list is glencote caravan park. I haven't booked it yet but believe its a mile or so outside town. A bit nearer the time I’ll need to check if prior and subsequent stops are available or else a minor reroute may be required. Actually your post made me stop and think. When you said Cheddleton, my first thought was “Where? I didn't realise I was stopping there.”
I realised that while I did some research up to Stafford, I haven't really done much for after there. I stuck a few pins in maps in order to get over to the Dales Way.
Think I need to spend some time on my day off to firm up the route and research accommodation. From Buxton through to Ribblehead I have no campsites on my ‘possibles’ list.

Superb day walking yesterday on The Cotswold Way. Even the long walk into Gloucester was pleasant. Now I’ve finished with the Cotswold Way - its been probably the most scenic so far, and the next two days are alone the Severn Way. Tonight I have a campsite a couple of miles north of Tewksbury.
I’ve enjoyed the two nights in Gloucester. I’ve been before in the past but it seemed a much nicer place this time around - good mix of old and new, chain restaurants and plenty of independents and free houses. Bit rough around the edges in some parts but that's no bad thing.

Haven’t done an update for a few days.
Did my last day on the Cotswold Way on Thursday. Walk was perfect, weather was great and walked with my daughter into Gloucester stopping off in Painswick for an excellent pub lunch.
Friday was a bit of a nightmare when I started on the Severn Way. After struggling for a mile or two on the worst path ever, I discovered that contrary to the OS map, the Severn Way had been rerouted to the west bank and I was macheteing my way along the east.
Finally got back on track and for the first time, my hip started playing up - to the extent that I was wondering if I could carry on. After a night camping at Tewkesbury the pain has lessened and hopefully won’t return.
Now in Worcester. Arrived yesterday. Laundry sorted. Lots of accommodation sorted - think I have the next 7 nights arranged now. Brother in law has arrived and will walk with me tomorrow to Stourport. Tomorrow will be day 3 on the Severn way before 3 days on the canal tow path.
Oh and found a great pub in Worcester - the Dragon Inn.

A random question for you to ponder during your walk today....
Is there anything you wish you had packed to have with you, that you haven't got
Not really. Happy with the weight I’ve got - most things get used, very little doesn’t and theres not much else I wish I had. Is there anything you wish you had packed to have with you, that you haven't got

Do you listen to music walking? Do you think a lot?
If Im on a quiet path or lane, I sometimes play Spotify out loud rather than on earphones. Bit of Sinatra or Nat King Cole.I suspect I think about the same cr@p everyone else does - from Cotswold dry stone walling to the number of job vacancies I see posted everywhere I walk.
I was wondering which route you’d take to Tewkesbury. Had no idea the path out of Gloucester was so bad, but going over Sanhursr Hill is the route I’d have suggested anyway.
Looks like you had a bit of a faff getting to your campsite at the end; is there no way through from the old railway line?

I found a path that led straight to the site. But it was the back fence so I had rejoin the road and walk about 3/4 of a mile to get to the front gate. I think with hindsight i could have continued further on the path and found a shorter way. . superb update. I like the Red Lion have been there once and the food was good.
Notice you had a big M in Gloucester, what's the burger of choice for an athlete such as yourself?
I went in for a sausage and egg mcmuffin but misordered on the touch screen and ended up with bacon and egg. Decent coffee as well. I thought McD was on the way to the path but it took a bit of time to get off that industrial estate and find the fiver.
