You’re most welcome, I really enjoyed the drive (once past the Ilkley).

Wasn’t sure I’d meet you as no signal out in the sticks, but - achieved a successful beer delivery.

I’ve just read the whole thread while sitting on my arse in the sunshine so I definitely had to make a donation!
Sounds like an amazing adventure. For some reason recently this kind of crazy stuff has a massive appeal, hopefully I’ll get to do something similar one day, when work and family commitments allow.

And before one is too old and knackered to even think about it!

I like walking and camping (well with electric, air beds, heaters etc) but I am not sure my body would take the strain - knees are not great and do not take kindly to going down hills.

Fair play to I4got for even starting it and once he has finished (as I am sure he will’ then even more admiration and I hope that a lot more money is raised to recognize the achievement.

The husband of a woman Mrs WR knows on a fb motorhome forum is doing LEJOG and set off about the same day as you.

His Mrs is following him in their motorhome, and he sleeps in that each night.

I think he is about 100 miles in smile

Expects to take around two months.
He is now around Birmingham apparently. smile

That will certainly make life easier for him - still a challenge though.

Fantastic walk today maybe the best yet. Appletreewick to Buckden on the Dales Way. Beautiful weather. Passed through some pretty town/villages. Nice pub in the middle for some Wainwights. Good campsite at the beginning and the end of the day.

If carlsberg did walks…

It is one of our favourite areas and have walked what you have today, although not all in one go after 500+ miles so fair play to you!

Gods own county at its best, especially when the sun shines.

I am following a couple doing LEJOG in a motorhome, but at the end of every day they have to find a lift back to their van. https://www.facebook.com/Wonkywalkingend2end-10605... All of you walkers are very inspirational.

They'd probably put Lands End and JoG closer together hehe

Am another silent watcher of the big walk here smile

Last day on the Dales Way tomorrow taking me to Windermere.

Then a day off !! First day off since Worcester. 20 days ago.

Tonight I ordered a new pair of the trail shoes I wear. Same make/model/size. I pick up in Kendal on Friday. I thought my shoes would last till Carlisle but not quite - holes worn through the back of the heels and soles lost all traction.

Other stuff to do on day off - laundry and haircut.

Wife is up on her second visit in the motorhome. She goes back Saturday. So I've had 2 days walking with a daypack only and sleeping in the motorhome.

After the day off - the Cumbria Way to Carlisle.

Thanks for the update, glad to hear it's still progressing well. I don't do facebook but at some stage I probably should sign up.

Cheers for the update - make the most of the comfort and rest day.

Looks like the stretch to Carlisle is relatively flat which will be good.

Are you going though Keswick? If so, the Keswick Brewery has an excellent tap which is worth a visit if open. The Round (on the main street) does some cracking burgers if you need evening food and is staggering distance from the tap. Neither mind scruffy walkers as we hit the tap & then The Round after walking Skiddaw (via Skiddaw House) last month
