heading to NY for the first week of July - so glad we didn't book the test's last night !
does this also mean, that mask wearing in public etc is going to disappear ? The websites etc all seem to be outdated and insist you do when visiting attractions ?
You still have to wear one here on the subway, other public transport (buses/trains), in the airport, in taxis/ubers/lyfts, and in broadway theatres, and individual businesses also reserve the right to require you to wear a mask, but other than that you are good without a mask.does this also mean, that mask wearing in public etc is going to disappear ? Enforcement is also zero.
Legallyy required vaccine checks for bars/restaurants were scrapped in March (although a couple do still check for proof - thats their own policy), but bizarrely the vaccine mandate is still in place here in NY, so you cannot legally work without a vaccine here!

Eh? According to the CDC site mask wearing for public transport etc. was scrapped April 18?
State dependent. Much like vaccination mandate for workers is state dependent, so is the requirement to wear a mask on the subway and public transport here in NY, which is where that poster was specifically asking about. djc206 said:
I don’t fly with either of them so will defer to someone who has about the procedure/app they use for checking vaccine status and signing the attestation.
I’m sure it’s all on their respective websites
Virgin are pretty straight forward with the attestation, you fill it in on their website and it's basically a couple of clicks so you don't even need to fill out and upload the actual form. I’m sure it’s all on their respective websites
They'll send you an email prior to flying with links and everything you need. Hardest part was waiting for them to verify the covid test, took about 20 minutes for one of the ones I uploaded but that bit shouldn't be required now.

I'll sort this all next week or so. Glad the testing requirement has been dropped.

Do we think they will eventually drop the vaccine requirement? Im going out there next March, and hoping it gets dropped like most of Europe etc.
If not dropped by the end of the year, im going to have to relent and take my chances with the jab's.....
Doubtful to be honest. Why would they? Plus they have thousands of people who’ve been made unemployed as a consequence of refusal to have the vaccine to maintain their employment so why would they drop it just to allow a somewhat minimal volume of people to have some holy-bobs.If not dropped by the end of the year, im going to have to relent and take my chances with the jab's.....

Is there a requirement to show a vaccination pass when flying to the USA atm? I'm off on June 24th and aside from the esta, what else will I need?
Who are you flying with?ro250 said:
I'm flying BA in a couple of months. On their website there is a pdf form to complete and it says something like 'you might be able to use VeriFLY' which I found rather vague. Anyone flown BA lately? What's involved with registering with VeriFLY?
Just download the app and follow the instructions. It’s pretty idiot proof which was handy for me. I’ve used it several times now and it’s pretty good.djc206 said:

I flew with BA yesterday. All you need is your vaccination record and the new attestation form filled in. I’ll find the link they gave me later - I hadn’t done it and it took one minute at check in.
No masks at the airport or on the plane.
What format do you need your vaccination record in - the NHS app?No masks at the airport or on the plane.

Yes - the app. If you have an iPhone you can put the vaccination record into your Apple Wallet - worked really well for me as I didn’t need to faff around on the app in the airport. A screenshot or printed copy would also have been fine. I don’t see the point of verifly at all for America anymore.

Allows online check in and self bag drop if travelling with hold luggage. Never any queues at the self drop machines at T5I don’t see the point of verifly at all for America anymore.
Got back from our 2 week trip at the weekend.
Again, thanks to this forum, the Klarity tests etc went through fine for Verifly. Last Friday, as we were on our way to to JFK in a cab, we heard on the radio that they were dropping testing on entry. Nice relief for all travellers. But my gosh, the plane from JFK to Manchester (Aer Lingus) was full of coughing and spluttering, non-mask wearers (of course) so no doubt the plane was a covid breeding site . What ya gonna do though eh?
Did the obligatory Mustang convertible rental whilst we were over on the West side. Was fun for the trip and surprised to see a read-out of 450mile range at one point  - I must have been driving like a fairy on the interstate! 1200 miles in 5 days wasn’t too shabby - would do a driving holiday again in a heartbeat, my first one so this is great experience

Yes! The flight I was meant to be on yesterday still has 2 hours to run which seems incredible coming off the back of a fun night I had in Dallas last night. I’m on the 15.15 back on AA50 so a few hours chill time and then back to the airport. Gassing Station | Holidays & Travel | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
