Depends where you go - pretty much zero for most places but Qatar are bringing in testing for the World Cup.

Surely the UK government website is the place to go to find out the current status?

Another good reason not to go.

Sorry just saw this. I am but the random testing rules applied regardless and were onerous. Everything has been dropped now. Flew internally to Montreal the other day and the masks have been abandoned gleefully by most Canadian travellers. It’s more common to see Canadians wearing masks than Brits day to day but that’s the only remaining sign that covid was a thing bar the odd worn out floor sticker.

Just got back from a week in Portugal and i think i'd add Spain to the list

We did a day trip to Gibraltar last tuesday and were worried that lack of any injections or QR codes on phones would be a problem

Checked with tour company and even Jet2 girl who both confirmed they aren't really bothered by that any more

As confirmed, zero covid checks between Portugal, Spain and the Rock, also practically zilch mask wearing. It was so nice to feel like a bit of normality had returned

Won't be returning to Portugal in a rush, but it was our first holiday for over 2 years. Little 'un even cried as we took off at Leeds from the relief of going on holiday after the 2 years of remote learning/WFH/scotch egg bullst etc

I read this morning that The Philippines has just dropped its restriction on un-vaccinated visitors entering the country and now requires a lateral flow test 24 hours before entry if you cannot present evidence of Covid jabs.

This seems to leave the USA and Indonesia as the only remaining countries with restrictions for unvaccinated travellers (and possibly China too)?

Would anyone like to take a guess at what would happen if a dirty unjabbed person were to go to Thailand on a tourist visa and then the world/country locks down again, not letting you out or into a bordering country without being jabbed and also requiring same to fly? Obviously that would mean you wouldn't be able to do your border runs to renew your visa and getting the jab to eliminate that problem isn't an option. I'm wondering whether to risk it as I have some seriously cheap accom on offer for 12 months and likely longer. scratchchin

Do it. Worrying about what might happen but probably won’t is just existing, not living.

It must be quite common for people to fence it off and say they put the fence there X years ago on the application and then 'lodt the pictures sorry'?

Thailand is RIP again. Just announced that you need the jab juice to enter. Imo this is the start of the world locking down again and other countries will follow in the coming weeks.

Thailand has been scatty as anything throughout the pandemic changing their rules almost daily so it’s no surprise that they’ve gone off the deep end again.

I don’t see any lockdowns or such nonsense again, even the Chinese have realised the error of their ways there but travel is going to be difficult for the Chinese for a few months and maybe for those of you who have declined or been unable to have the vaccinations. It’s a bit of a farce that my jabs from an age ago still count, my recent covid infection would surely be far more relevant but hey Thailand.

I hope that the Rest of the world don’t follow suit - we are off to Fuerteventura 18 January for 6 weeks so fingers crossed that no stupidity kicks in by then.

Appear to have done a u turn after the tourism industry told them they were being stupid. Apparently the original justification was that it would unfair to target just the Chinese.

Does anyone know if you have to show a negative cv test for internal flights in Thailand?

Many thanks.

TOH just bought an internal flight with vietjet and it said something about showing a negative test before boarding, taken within 72hrs - I imagine their website is out of date..
