Official passenger numbers for May at Heathrow
6,798,212 (2019) V 5,081,426 (2022)
So less than 75% of the last “Normal” year.
The issues at Manchester are caused by a lack of staff rather than increased passenger numbers.6,798,212 (2019) V 5,081,426 (2022)

And it was ste before.
Now I'd not risk it with less than 3 hours.
Lack of staff is a problem a lot of airports worldwide are having. I've heard of similar issues in Australia and NL, during the Pandemic airports and logistics companies let a lot of staff go. Those staff went and got other jobs, considering that ASDA are paying £10 an hour for a delivery driver, a lot of them are in a hurry to go back to working at an airport.
We flew from Man t3 last Thursday at 6,50am, arrived at the terminal 2 hours before boarding time just in case as only had hand luggage with us and previous trip out of Manchester last September we were though security in about 15 minutes, clearly covid was still in play then as it was deserted.
Our flight was well into boarding by the time we made it through security, Fasttrack line looked to be longer than the standard line and they both seemed to bottleneck into the same 2 open X-ray machines anyway. Went past a couple at another gate who had missed the last call and were pleading to be allowed on the plane, sure they weren't the only ones that day.
In comparison my mum and dad went from Liverpool this morning at similar flight time and got there 3 hours before just incase and were through security within 30 mins and sent me a pic of them enjoying a brekkie, my dad even had time for a celebratory pint as its his first holiday in 5 years as trip was originally booked for this week 2 years ago.
Our return into t3 in was fine, outside within 20 mins, that may have been because we landed 1 1/2 hours late due to Ryanair's standard every other flight is delayed and it was 1,30 am Monday morning.

Pretty much this. Heathrow was good in the before times, You'd rock up with less than 2 hours before your intercontinental flight, breeze through check in and security and spend an hour wondering what to do with yourself.
Now I'd not risk it with less than 3 hours.
Heathrow is not too bad at all at present. I pitched up to T3 around 05:15 last week for a 06:30 flight, was in the lounge having breakfast by 05:35Now I'd not risk it with less than 3 hours.
I’ve changed airports from Manchester to Leeds Bradford.
Flying out now at 08:35 to Dublin every week and it’s a disaster area.
1 hr 20 with so called fast track.
Normal Q as fast.
Just not enough staff. A guy passed out on Monday in the Q but was ok.
That’s one way of getting a wheelchair to the front.
Dublin has got better but has stopped selling fast track at T2.
Only 7 more weeks then I’m done with travelling for work.
It’s st!

Pre Covid and Teams becoming dominant, I’d have to do that early leeds Dublin flight regularly for work. It’s an early start but means you are in Dublin centre by 8:30am. Frustratingly they changed the time for the return flight so it more often than not required me to have a stopover but with an early start the following day so couldn’t even enjoy a few guiness.
Just en route to LBA myself this morning. Have left 90 mins to get through so let’s see how bad security is there…

We were planning to go from Birmingham but have been reading some stories from there.
Is anywhere vaguely normal or are they all having issues?
Ive been wondering the same as the cheapy TUI to Orlando was just too good not to book it (for the 29th May)Is anywhere vaguely normal or are they all having issues?
I think though I may elect to do the bag drop the evening before the flight so im not messing on at 6am (or alternatively just take hand luggage and be done with it)
But that being said I used BHX last year when it was supposed to be horrific and it was perfectly fine other than a very rowdy situation at 'Spoons as the app wasn't working and they weren't allowing people to order at the bar ... lots of unhappy campers that morning!

TUI are cheap because they have switched from Sanford to Melbourne airport, which is way over on the East coast. It’s a good 75miles to the parks and hotels.
