Will be on my first flight in over 2 years next week - reading this thread and some news sites with "interest" smile

Heathrow / Dublin with Aer Lingus - out next Tuesday evening and back Thursday evening. Will see how I get on!

On my first flight for nearly three years this Friday. EasyJet Gatwick to Jersey. Bought the Priority Security pass. Fingers crossed we don't spend the day in the airport.

Erm.. your date of birth is on your passport.

Probably also included in the info on the biometric chip.

Figuring out your age is trivial.
Sorry, clumsy wording on my behalf. I am not sure the tech has been set up to not let under 12's use the system. But never got anyone to test it out!
I believe it's due to facial recognition not working adequately for children below the age of 12. They can try using the gate if no one stops them but it just won't work...

I doubt it's an exact science but a line needs drawing somewhere.

It’s probably also something to do with height

Not entirely sure why the Stansted Express (oxymoron that the term is) stops running at 12.30am when flights arrive after this.

£175 for a cab back to Clapham at 1.00am

Flew this morning from Birmingham to Canary Islands with TUI.
Arrived at 7.30am, no Queue to check in, literally walked up to the desk and checked in bags, no Queue for passport checks and walked straight up to security. From walking through the airport departure doors to sitting down at a table in Spoons for a cooked breakfast was 20 mins max.
The press love to show the queues, but I believe they are limited to the 6am/7am flights, just look at all the departures going before 7:30am, many holiday destinations too.

Obviously there are still other issues but I think the check-in/departure security issues are mostly OK now outside those peak times - airports should force airlines to cancel some of those 'double booked' flights or move them to 10am etc.

Mrs Shnozz delayed 3.5 hours on her flight from Alicante - Leeds this morning. Frustratingly for many on the flight with either a U.K. passport or hold luggage the extent of the delay only became apparent after having passed through the passport stamping gate so the Brits were trapped that side for 3 hours with little food or drink options. The Mrs is Danish so had police escort her back to the other side so she could at least sit for free in the Sala lounge for 3 hours and work whilst eating and drinking without any cost.

Another Brexit benefit then!

Same as before - the UK was a non-schengen country.

I checked in on the EasyJet app a few weeks ago. No mention of Covid jabs etc.

Rather stupidly forgot about this, flew out of Heathrow 2 weeks ago with no issues at all.
But this time because the flight was £70 less decided to fly from Luton.
Flying out Wednesday (29th!) any recent reports?

Edit: ignore, just seek the report above. Quite pleased now

I’ve not seen much lately about Luton - you’ll probably be fine.

Indeed. I am so pleased I wasn't with her on this trip or I would have been utterly raging.

Bad enough that I have to allow at least an hour now for passport control so cannot stay sat down enjoying a wine in the airport lounge until the flight is ready to board.

Manchester Airport PHer meet then!

See you all in the queue. I'll be the frustrated looking bloke dragging a 2 & 5 year old kicking and screaming behind him.

Hi,

Flying out of T3 Heathrow to Valencia on Saturday (fingers crossed!). I have a question regarding BA forms online - I'm being asked to add proof of negative COVID-19 test and complete travel declarations (Sanitary Control Form?) I thought these were no longer necessary? EasyJet didn't ask for these last week. Does anyone know? Thanks in advance, seemed silly to start a new thread for it.

I had to do them for Barcelona a couple of weeks ago. If you have the NHS covid app you’re fine without I think. If you’re unvaccinated or had your vaccine more then about 270 days ago you have to complete the form and have a negative test. I did the test, then you basically promise on the form that you’ve taken it. No one ever asked to see it, you just get a qr code that they scanned when I landed

Cheers, I'm assuming we'll be OK. We're all vaccinated and have the Covid pass on the app.
