€1.86 per litre in our local Leclerc this morning
Fuel in France it is then, that’s almost 40p a litre saving
Don't forget it wont be anything like as good as that on autoroutes

Drop off the autoroute at any sizable town/city and you'll be very unlucky not to fall over at least 1 supermarket at the first roundabout.

Don't be tricked by signs put up by a specific supermarket brand directing you to a supermarket though! More than once I've made that mistake and found myself being directed on a loop around town to get to it...only drive back the direct route and realise there was a competitor supermarket just around the bend after the sign I'd followed, and the long looping route I'd followed was just one to avoid my passing any closer, competitor supermarkets!

One thing I’ve doing for years (After a narrow escape in Germany about 20 years ago) is to stick a reminder at the top right hand side of the windscreen, I used to do same on my tank of a motorcycle with masking tape, these days I use a Dymo machine, it really does work.

Book your Emovis toll tag and save €10 by using this referral link, it worked for me today. €10 is shown off the final cost once you pay.

Mostly the case - but not always.

I filled up with diesel yesterday at the Two Caps service station on the A16 just outside Calais at the equivalent of £1.44/l which was the cheapest I'd seen all week anywhere from the port to the western Normandy coast.

If you're after the cheapest fuel in your area check the official French government fuel price website.

Indeed, and the French fuel price websites are better than their UK equivalents.

Aire de Troyes le Plessis / de Fresnoy is often the cheapest on the way to the alps.

Is where to check. You will currently find that Total are the cheapest as they have knocked another €0.10 centimes off the price of the other producers. Problem is they keep running out.
