And the bloody thing doesn’t work rage

Which so far has been a bit of faff. We’ve tried all sorts to get it to work, but I think we have a dud transponder.

If anyone has any ideas, we, (especially my Wife), would love to hear them.

Thanks in advance smile
Is this the first trip that you have used the tag? Did you get it activated once you received it? This is what you have to do each time you get a new Emovis tag.

Some tag suppliers have offices close to a peage beside a toll road, although they are not frequent. You could try calling Fulli and finding out if there's such an office on your trip or within reasonable distance from where you are.

Re the Fulli tag… after many years of my wife hanging out the car window at the peage booths waving a credit card and hoping for the best we finally decided to get a Fulli toll tag this year, we opted for the Nomade + so we can use it Italy, Spain and Portugal. It arrived promptly but we were soon informed it would be deactivated as the €1 test didn’t work as we didn’t have funds in our Revolut account, we hadn’t loaded it with euros so our fault. We were able to log into our Fulli account on the website and make the payment using a credit card, the tag was still live. We then decided to change the account to our HSBC global money account, but this didn’t register with Fulli and again they messaged to say they would deactivate the card, again credit card payment was made. Messages to Fulli are generally slow to be replied to, but the Fulli app shows the status of the tag.
The tag is stuck in its holder to the drivers side (right) of the rear view mirror high up on the windscreen. We remove it after each journey and put it in the envelope supplied.
When we arrived at the first booth in France we drove at it with fingers crossed. We stopped at the barrier as usual, the tag beeped and the barrier raised, success. At the next booth there was a 30kph (20mph) lane which we tried and again as we drove through the tag beeped and we were on our way without stopping. We have also been in Italy and the tag has worked faultlessly, with a double beep rather than a single. The French tolls appear on our account within a few days, the Italian ones have yet to appear, this is from 2 weeks ago.
All in all well worth it.

Thanks all for your replies and suggestions.

Yes, the Tag was activated with the €1 payment as soon as we got it.

We’ve tried locating the Tag on all the recommended places on the windscreen, and the Wife has tried sticking her arm out of the window as we approach a toll booth. All to no avail.

This is the first time that we’ve used this Tag, but not the first time that we’ve used a toll Tag.

I hadn’t considered the heated front windscreen being an issue, and the Trafic does have one fittted.

I’m hoping that we can get this sorted soon as we still have around 1/3rd of France to go, plus most of Spain, plus the return journey, and an unhappy Wife = an unhappy me.

Emovis has a tag for France and another which covers Slain and Portugal. Both mounted onto the windscreen and paid with the same account.
Emovis works fine, but they expect you to keep the Tag forever , even when
you are not planning to go to France, and pay a yearly rental fee. If you send the
Tag back to them and reclaim the 20 euro deposit make sure you send it recorded delivery
as they'll claim it never arrived, effin' chancers.
Whilst Emovis is a subscription model it's very reliable with excellent customer service. The annual fee is hardly worth worrying about at 8 euros and well worth it in my opinion since you deal with a uk company and use a uk bank account.

I've just ordered my Spanish/Portuguese one, it arrived next day.

I used Emovis in the L322 Range Rover which has a heated windscreen and it works fine.

If it's still not working when you wave it out the window it's knackered.
Possibility of a dud battery I suppose but Emovis say theirs is sealed for life and not user-changeable - I'd guess this is the same.
If you have the time and determination it might *might* be worth visiting a car hire company and see if they can revive it or test it as I'd guess they have transponder problems regularly. If trying that I'd wait until Spain personally because the French won't help...

I've had an Emovis tag for a decade or so and it's simply so easy. Yes there's a small charge for the years you don't use it, but hardly worth worrying about.

I bought extra tag holders so other family members can also use the tag, which makes it easy for them, they just pay me back after I've been billed and we've never all wanted to go away at the same time.

Finally, Emovis/Liber-T also have desks/offices in some of the autoroute services, so one year when my tag started playing up (low battery) I simply walked in and was able to swap if for a new one.

I've been using Emovis for a few years, another plus point for me is that the tolls are billed monthly, on the month after you travel. It means the cost of a long road trip through France is spread over a couple of months, and when you have a penchant for cheese and wine, every little helps smile
