I'm retired and there is very little to do in the UK when it's cold and wet outside.
I could easily spend 2 months doing nothing in the sun.
I'm retired too - but two months of doing nothing would be my idea of torture.I could easily spend 2 months doing nothing in the sun.
Sometimes I wish it wasn't, because the thought of two months warmth and sunshine whilst the rest of the northern hemisphere is scraping frost off it's windscreens is a bloody lovely one, but the actual reality would drive me up the wall because I'm not very good at having nothing to do.
Nice problem to have maybe, but we've tried two island holidays as well as going with friends and taking the kids and grandkids out in the past but nope, after a couple or three weeks I'm itching to get back and crack on with life and hobbies and stuff I've got going on at home.
If I was out there for a few months.
Learn to windsurf, renew my PADI, keep learning Spanish, cycling, hiking, some sort of powered boat qualification, sailing, rent a motorcycle.........
I ride a motorcycle here but not often thanks to the cruddy weather, paddle boarding the same.
The grey and cold and the rain just sucks the life out of me these days.

The Condi Nast 2023 Excellence Winners included two Canarian hotels:
"Best Hotel Spa
WINNER
Hotel Botánico & The Oriental Spa Garden
Year-round R&R on the lush slopes of north Tenerife
Best Destination Spa
WINNER
Bahia Del Duque
Private, refined resort beside Tenerife’s beautiful Duque beach".
In total three hotels were nominated.
1.Royal Hideaway Corales Resort in La Caleta in Costa Adeje
2.The Bahía del Duque in Costa Adeje
3.Hotel Botánico Oriental Spa Garden in Puerto de La Cruz.
None of these hotels are my cup of tea but, there is a bum for every seat.

I recently spent a week cycling in Tenerife, based in Puerto de la Cruz and was blown away by how good the food was and the variety. Very reasonably priced as well.
My first trip to Tenerife and now seriously looking at buying an apartment there. The north of the island was simply stunning, not at all what I was expecting, compared with what I'd heard about the south.
Highly recommended

Now it's gone all tourist with a menu and tablecloths and local art on the walls and everything. Still does a fish stew to die for though.

Is that Maspalomas?
Lots of footage on-line, if you know what I mean
I was going to say take some baby wipes Lots of footage on-line, if you know what I mean
I just checked on-line, and they are not closed, suggested by many websites .
Do you have an up to date source?
