We’re in GC at the moment and the weather has been patchy with highs of 21/22c but nights need jackets!
I’am usually very fussy about the resorts we go to but this time because we went last minute it was the hotel that took priority and is fab but it’s in Playa de English which is the st hole of st holes and taking taxis to get out of the place every day.
To be honest it has put me off the Canaries and would fly back now with 4 days remaining.

The bigger the resort the bigger sthole its guaranteed to be in the Canaries and Playa del Ingles is right up there with Playa de las Americas in Tenereffe and Puerto del Carmen in Lanzarote.

Having a car and self catering in a quiet village well away from the beer and chips in the sunshine hordes makes for a far more pleasant experience no matter which Island you're on.

Completely agree DIY is the best option, it's half term at the moment so must be horrendously Council.

We like a bit of winter sun and as we have a holiday home in Tuscany my wife likes a hotel which is very good and adults only.
The resort makes the series Benidorm seem upmarket! laugh

Off to GC on Tuesday for a week, hope it warms up a bit in the daytime. That's jeans and jumper weather.

I”ve been in GC for the last 3 days and it has been lovely during the day. In the evening I wear a light jumper but still out my shorts on.

We are going to Puerto Rico, it's normally 1or 2c warmer there than Playa del ingles.

We went to Amadores beach club yesterday and there was less wind and hotter and very nice place to spend the day, recommended.

We are staying in the Riu Vistamar, the rooms overlook Amadores beach.

We usually stay in Puerto Mogan but couldn’t get the hotel we wanted and foolishly booked Beach of the English.

Either just enjoy the hotel or hire a car. You're not missing anything back home, enjoy 20+ degrees in Feb while you can.

weather here in the nth of lanza has been crap all month so far. Highs not even reaching 20. Rain every other day at night, 15 if your lucky, (cloudy) but usually 12/13.

Visited there once, that was enough for me. Mogan is a nice place, except for market day. I was hoping to spend Sunday at bar Pio Pio, but looking on Facebook it's been closed down, shame.

I recommend hiring a car and driving up to Roque Nublo, I've driven up there a few times. Some nice villages for lunch on the way up and spectacular views once up there.

That's not good to hear. Is the south any better?

More twists and turns than a bent spring but I always like. GC to a Jaffa Cake. The nice bits are all in the middle.

By and large, all the tourist places are Benidormish or Boringdormish, depending on what you want. Certainly P del I retains that authentic 70s politically incorrect cringeworthy drag queen tripe that masquerades as entertainment.
