Been a scorcher all week 27 to 33’.

Setting off to airport in an hour or so fingers crossed it’s not total chaos due to strike action.

Possibly going to either Tenerife, Majorca or Ibiza for a 3/4 day break next week. Which would be the best for a good few quiet pubs/clubs this time of year and better weather?

Cala Dor and Marbella don't look warm enough imo.

Ibiza early season not started yet.

Maspalomas \ Anfi del mar looking good. could always book a table at cafe del mar to watch the show or, barfly there for a few cocktails. There's four open air clubs down at Central if you want it a bit more lively but in Gran Canaria its all about Reggaeton.

Loads of kids everywhere, at the moment.
Canaries is your best bet for sun.
Here in FV now and it tends to be cloudy am, hot through the afternoon and breezy in the evening.

That may be I would wager the water in Cala D'or is freezing cold (?)

It's too beautiful to go there and not swim almost all day, every day in the bay.

It was freezing in July, however Alcudia is always warm in September. The sea in Playa Blanca is always freezing when we have been in March.

I have booked the Blackpool of the Canaries, Playa Del Inglise. Looks like a nice hotel Abor Continental AI, close to the bus station for trips to Mogan and 5 mins from the beach. 3 June for a week was £680pp through Tui. . If the AI is poor we can eat out in the evenings for this low price. We stayed near Mogan last year and did the whole island more or less and I thought GC was great.

It was a toss up between this and Rui Olivia in Corralejo, but I didn't want to be catching the bus when we went into town and the GC hotel had a refurb in 2018 whereas the Rui looks very 1990's.

I wish I was in Spain right now although, I am not man enough to swim anywhere else in the sea other than Cala D'or bay biggrin

re: Mogan, I don't think its that nice imho. I know its favoured by women of a certain age who like to prosecco but I would sooner just get a cab to Maspalomas or Anfi.

As I found out in January, prices are higher this year as the RUI 4-star Maspalomas is closing for a refurb and many more families, couples will end up in Ingles this summer simply because of that. I don't get too sniffy about Ingles but its the noise levels I can't handle.

Playa de English is a dump and would recommend anywhere but there!
