Well not off to a great start on Arvia... Turns out our cabin is a 3 berth despite what the deck plan says and reassurances over the phone that it would have the required pull down bed. Our 2 years old is too big to sleep in the cot bed so we can't stay in this cabin.
No other 4 berth balcony cabins available but they have a seaview one instead, so looks like we'll be having to take a downgrade. Not even left the port yet, wasted 3.5 hours onboard waiting to see what they can do
Hope they get you sorted ASAP.No other 4 berth balcony cabins available but they have a seaview one instead, so looks like we'll be having to take a downgrade. Not even left the port yet, wasted 3.5 hours onboard waiting to see what they can do

We are Ruby Princess out of Ft lauderdale later this year........have never been on a cruise let alone know the "rules"
I just checked there and Princess will allow you to bring a bottle of wine / bubbly each when embarking. Spirits would be a no.They're all different. If you havent done so already, find the facebook cruise for your particular cruise line / ship as they're usually a mine of information and pics.
Has anyone taken any cruise from Ambassador ?
They seem to have small old ships which look ok and have
reasonable prices for us to take a extra trip this year after our Queen Victoria Cunard trip to the med.
We prefer smaller ships but prefer two cunards to a single trip with say Regent on the basis of diminishing returns.
The UK departures look ok too.

we were seriously considering going on their Northern Lights cruise but life got in the way - that said Mrs DG has been following the cruise on FB (as well as the subsequent Iceland tour, and now the UK cruise) and almost all the feedback there has been positiveThey seem to have small old ships which look ok and have

My dad did a round Britain trip with them on Ambience last year. He liked it so much he's off on a 32 nighter around the Med this month. They seem to have small old ships which look ok and have

Ambience is an older ship but OK, staterooms are a bit tired but the rest of the ship is OK. Drinks are cheap. Food was OK quality.
It's probably not quite as good as e.g. Cunard, but it's acceptable (my dad went on the QE with me a few years ago and has cruised a lot on Royal, P&O etc so has some experience). Good prices, I think my old man is paying about £3k for a month away plus another £1k for the drinks package.
Tilbury is a PITA to get to depending on where you're coming from, but their itineraries are good. Worth a look on Youtube (e.g. Emma Cruises or similar) to see it for yourself.
Edit - I'm off on the Sky Princess next month now. Looking forward to it although at 3600 pax and no baby changing facilities I'm a little worried (I'll have my 1 year old with me).

She is off to dry dock very soon, repairs and restaurant changes I believe
Well that sounds like they may be a runner later in the year and those long ones look good value.
Sky Princess we went on to the fjords last year and sorry to say it wasn`t the best(and we are pretty easy to please) . 3600 passengers and full to brim queued for things like coffee with people everywhere it felt like the ship and crew would have been better for 2500 to 3000. A shame when Emerald Princess was so pleasant.

Just bought 100 carnival shares (UK listed) for about £710 with tax this gives £150 on board credit for a 14 night cruise,
With the share price being low it will not take long to cover my investment.
I used one of the free trading apps, trading 212 but I have also heard good things about Freetrade.

You can use that shareholder benefit on any Carnival line. I got $250 onboard credit with Seabourn. With the share price being low it will not take long to cover my investment.

Just back from 7 nights on Royal Caribbean's Navigator Of The Seas, down from LA to the Mexican Rivera.
1st time on a cruise and don't think it's really for me, certainly not to 'beach' locations, unfortunately one of our shore days was cancelled due to this very unfortunate accident so we had an extra day at sea, found Americans quite annoying and can't say Mexico was somewhere I'd rush back to.
The boat itself was pleasant enough, but a lot nicer when it had less people on it, never a shortage of food or drink and no excessive queuing or lack of seats at 'shows' but they sure know how to charge for everything, over £10 a day each for compulsory tipping when I get my own food off a buffet and my own drinks from a vending machine. include everything in the original price of the holiday, especially if it's mandatory, it's worse than Ryan Air.
Lots of 'events' in the schedule were nothing of the sort, the 'Rolex Event' in the onboard Jewellers was no different to any other time/day in the shop, anything billed as 'free taster' was an excuse for them to try a massive upsell, but the Mrs and I are hardened blaggers and have no conscience with regard to drinking the free fizz and walking out, very hard sell in the Art Auctions, but again we're not buying anything regardless of the quantity of 'champagne' they have pushed our way.
Pool areas very crowded and very little shade, having a balcony in the room was very much needed.
We both enjoyed it but wouldn't rush back, would stick to city breaks to locations we want to visit and all inclusive hotels in Europe for the food/drink/sun gluttony.
