I've just come back from a trip partly using the Azamara Journey, round trip from Cape Town up to Mozambique and back. 700 odd guests on board so not a big ship and I'd certainly use them again. Quite laid back but still smart and service excellent.
The only bit of excitement ......One chap took against another because he'd emptied a finished washing machine that contained his wife's underwear. First bloke took a pop at the second. That resulted in him and his wife being turfed off at the next stop!
Oh how I laughed!

I'm going to piggy back this thread if I may as Its our 40th this year and I/we fancy 10/14 days around the Carib later tis year, so any advice etc is welcome (apart from any silly advice of course)...
As mentioned above, I was quite impressed with Azamara and they were trying to flog various trips when I was on board.https://www.azamara.co.uk/voyage/on12l041/12-night...

I always recommend Seabourn, we’re on one of their ships right now. Not the cheapest but you really do get what you pay for. All inclusive onboard is also an attraction for us.LFB531 said:

Budget ? Although P&O are getting some flak they do a decent Caribbean itinerary over 14 days. They're also extremely good value as they include flights. For example the Arvia does Barbados, The British Virgin Islands, Dominican Republic, Saint Maarten, Antigua, St Kitts and Nevis, Martinique, St Lucia back to Barbados for a day / night.
A decent cruise if you want to tick a few islands off but it's a big ship like the Iona. You can make it as cheap or expensive as you want with cabin choice, speciality restaurants, drinks package etc plus they're offering a healthy on board credit at the moment for the Caribbean.
If you want a more intimate all inclusive experience then there are suggestions above that naturally tend to be more expensive, smaller ships etc but worth looking at the itinerary and decide what suits .

Or up the ante even more with Seabourn:-https://www.seabourn.com/en_US.html
To be fair Seabourn, Silversea and Regent seem to be the top lines albeit more expensive. All inclusive onboard though.

Thats actually not bad. They're including their Princess Plus drinks package on the balcony room deal i looked at, so came to £2099 each for balcony and drinks package. That Princess Plus package gets you Premium Drinks, Wifi and Crew Appreciation / Tips included.
Wouldnt be one of their newest ships, but still a good ship.
Princess offer the more traditional cruise theme, so expect lots of beige and gold. BUT - when we did Regal Princess, i quite liked that.

I’ve only done P&O once but I’d struggle to go again - it was very much like a floating Wetherspoons.

From my January trip with them I'd wholeheartedly agree with that.Previously it's been good.
How would they control the type of passengers booking though?
It wouldnt have been so bad if theyd enforced their own dress codes.
