We leave on the 9th Jan but doing Maldives for six nights then flying on to Singapore to board the Celebrity Millennium for 12 nights taking in Phuket, Lang Kawi, Port Klang, Celukan and finally Bali where we stay for a further 7 nights.

Just so nice to get away for January and somewhere warm.

Well just departed Los Angeles on the Emerald Princess and looking forward to to Panama Canal smile

As an aside it was brought home to me just how big these bloody boats are when seeing the Norwegian Bliss parked up behind the USS Iowa (one of the largest battleships ever built)... Iowa looks decidedly small eek

Looking for a cheap 7ish day cruise, somewhere warm, must be cheap.

This bloke https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M0-lRDFlzQE&t=...

He went for 7 days to The Canaries, well under a £1,000, I can't get near that. Any ideas, please?

Next one for us is MSC Euribia around Norway in May.

As we're in NI and have to fly to ports anyway, we have opted to meet the ship in Copenhagen. Taking a weekend break there first.

Looking forward to that one.

Copenhagen is a great city but you’ll need a very full wallet.

When you thinking of going?

If you can get your bags packed and be ready for the 19th Jan, P&O are doing a base cruise price of £564, which would leave decent headroom for flights.

Do check www.seascanner.co.uk, though they do cruise only.

I think their parent company cruise.co.uk do fly cruise packages.

Also try paramount cruises. We are booked with them in Sept and got a cracking deal. Personal service too.

Marella also doing cruises including flights from notably under £1000 in Jan Feb Mar, Nov, Dec. April also but that breaks the £1,000 mark.

One thing to note with Marella is thats your drinks package included. Ships are older, but refurbed. Staff are friendly and enthusiastic.

try cruisenation, I couldn't beat any of their prices anywhere else and they were substantially cheaper than others.

I suspect that this little boy makes our boat seem like Skid Row by comparison...

Well finally back from our Panama Canal (& Vegas add-on). Absolutely loved it.

Messed up in LA as we were knacked from Vegas so pretty much did nothing (dtill kivking myself for that, would've loved to visit USS Iowa, Griffith Observatory etc).

Didn't like Cabo
Huatulco was interesting
Panama City was cool, though we missed out on the old locks tour frown (the new locks are still pretty awesome though)
Colombia/Cartagena was also nice, though not long enough

Certainly do the trip again - possibly try for a smaller ship to give us a chance of going through the old locks

Hoover Dam

Cabo

Huatulco - even saw turtles swimming in the sea

Panama

Panama Canal

Cartagena. An aviary in the tropics is a little different - loved this little fella despite him wanting my laces!

Apparently L.A. to Miami is the 'best' way to do the locks as the sun is always behind you during transit...

Food was great, portions a fair bit smaller than expected (good!!), buffet was better/more civilised than expected

Enjoyed it and glad we did it.

Lovely to see. We'll have Cunard on our radar for future cruises. Not perfect, but then no cruise line is.

Celebrity Apex Norwegian Fjords (for the adults) in May from Southampton - Nordfjordeid, Norway - Flam, Norway - Geiranger, Norway - Alesund, Norway - Kristiansand, Norway - 8 nights. Looking forward to that. Looking forward to Concierge Class.

Disney Wish (for the kids) 4-Night Bahamian Cruise from Port Canaveral which visits Nassau and Castaway Cay. Concierge Class again mainly so we get first dibs on booking activities and specifically a cabana on Castaway Cay. Going with friends and their kids.

Since our first cruise a couple of years ago, we're a bit hooked.

We have our very first cruise booked in May from Athens round the med and to Istanbul for 2 days with Celebrity so looking forward to that.

Also booked the LA to Fort Lauderdale Panamá canal cruise over Christmas and New Year with Princess so was interesting to see what DodgyGeezer said about it.

We don’t go to Columbia which I would have liked to do but being away for Christmas is a bonus!

Christmas / New Year cruises tend to be +£,£££s more expensive than regular cruises. They also tend to be packed with family groups. Maybe thats ok if you have kids you're taking with you.

If the Caribbean is silly money for then (which i suspect it is, but havent looked), then the Canaries will be warm and there are various cruise lines who do that area over the winter.

I'd check www.seascanner.co.uk if you're happy to org your own flights. I think cruise.co.uk do the same but with flights and hotels too if needed (they own seascanner IIRC). I'd also recommend Paramount Cruises who give you the full Travel Agent experience and great prices too.
