The last pub I went to was the Ship & Shovel. Cracking pub, and it’s actually two pubs opposite each other.
Just down the road from Charring Cross station, I haven't been there yet.

Also, Gordon's wine bar is near there (closer to embankment reallly) worth a visit if you like wine and or port. Cheese platters are good too

Later in the day headed over to Brick Lane, the well known bagel shop had a long queue so I went to the one next door for a salt beef bagel which was amazing. Up till now my best ever dandy was a beef sarni from Katz Diner in New York but that cost $27 whereas this one cost £6.95 and was just as good

Back home now. Thanks for the suggestions which were really good, considering I had meant to post this in the Food & Drinks section!!

I did most of what I had on my list but not all, will be returning again before Xmas hopefully to see the rest.

Arrived in London this afternoon. Towed my caravan from South Yorkshire to a site near Leighton Buzzard train station, pitched up and caught the train to Euston, 30 min journey.

Didn’t get into Euston till 3pm so by the time I got to leather lane the market had closed. So I’m turning today into a short pub crawl of old pubs and will do the food places tomorrow.

First stop was Ye Olde Mitre in Hatton Gardens

That's one of my favourite pubs in London.
Look carefully at the top photo and in the front corner behind the glass, you can see the fossilised trunk of the cherry tree Queen Elizabeth I danced around.

Turn left when leaving instead of right into Hatton garden, and you come out on Ely Place, an oasis of calm in the mayhem of Central London. And the amazing St Etheldreda's church.

I can't make it out in the photo, but I will hopefully be returning later this month.

St Bartholomew's Gate House
Westminster Abbey tomb of unknown warrior
Jermyn St area
Princess of Prussia pub at 15 Prescot St
The Prospect Of Whitby, Wapping
Pie n mash

Not that I had planned to do all of those on this trip.

There's Beigel Bake and the Beigel Shop a few doors down - you're not a Londoner unless you have firm views on which is better! biggrin
Beigel Shop is currently closed, not sure what is going on

We usually go to Beigel Bake, but a few months ago went in Beigel Shop. I’d be interested to see it’s hygiene rating.
