BA Club Suites

I thought it was very good, but I don't have any experience of the old CW configuration for comparison. The last time I flew long haul I was in First on BA 747 which probably warped my perspective slightly but from what I've seen the new setup as a lot more in common with that, than the old CW..
The club suites are a step up from the old club world. I’d definitely agree that the suites are much closer to first than before.I did spend 10 hours in a full cabin last week and whilst there were a few delays on food it was nothing I would have entertained complaining about. Drinks came quickly, but I was cheating as my companion in the adjacent centre seat was tee total and just kept me double parked until snoozing.

I'm flying to Shanghai and Mexico City soonish and both seat configs (on BA app) seem to be the old style, bugger!
It’s not too bad. I like 6B, no one stepping over your feet, always seem to get my drinks refreshed regularly and it’s in the mini forward cabin so not many other people to make noise or move around.Reading the Flyertalk forums again tonight reminded me that the slowness of the CS refit programme is largely down to supply shortages of the seats themselves, so I guess BA can be cut a little slack. The three remaining 777-300s are apparently not due for completion until June-August. At this rate, by the time they've completed 788, 789 and A380 there'll probably be a new iteration of business class seat and they'll need to start all over again!
In the meantime I'm hoping to enjoy my first CS experience tomorrow to Montreal; fortunately seems to be a lack of CW substitution on that route (although I'll no doubt have jinxed it by saying that...)

Lots of ideas in the Flyertalk Tier Point Runs or BA Holidays threads.
If you live near an airport with BA connecting flights then a flight to LHR followed by a return to an 80TP destination with 5 nights hotel or car hire gets you 480TP (e.g. NCL-LHR-TIA plus 5 nights hotel). There are 30-odd 80TP destinations, although I guess a fair few are seasonal.

Off topic but I realised I have some long haul flights with companion voucher booked meaning I won’t make the required tier points to retain silver this year.
What’s the fastest way to build up tier points?
Flight via Helsinki with some 5 day hotel/car thrown in to double everything?
Use BA holidays flying somewhere with Qatar 4xbusiness class = 560 x2 (BA Holiday Bonus) = 1120 & never mind silver but go for gold! What’s the fastest way to build up tier points?

Seriously use BA holidays to double up on points. How many do you need is really the question? Plus how much is Silver really worth?
Short version. £800 return Abu Dhabi - Columbo - Jakarta Business Class with Sri Lankan. 560 points.

Also on FlyerTalk is a separate thread for a currently popular TP run to Sofia. Flights in business start from £210 return which gets you 160 TPs. Plenty of people have booked two return tickets nested inside each other to make two daytrips.GT03ROB said:

Need about 400. Silver is worth it for me, I pretty much only fly out of LHR so use the fast track and lounge a lotSeriously use BA holidays to double up on points. How many do you need is really the question? Plus how much is Silver really worth?

However best thing I would do is go on google flights start from London select anywhere as your destination, put in the dates you want to go, select business class & see what destination pop up & at what price. should give you some ideas. Staying in europe you are only going to get 80 or 160 points for a return unless you add 5 days of hotel or car hire. You could easily spend a grand in europe to get the points.
Just tried to check-in this morning, 24 hours ahead of my flight as I’m back to BA Blue after not having travelled with work for quite some time.
At the seat selection stage, it turns out the configuration in business class is 1-2-1 so looks like we will get the new BA Club Suites after all!
