A world apart from the PH jetsetters, but we are flying BC to Gran Canaria in March, from Gatwick with BA.

I assume it will just be the council version with three normal seats and the middle one left empty?

Is the lounge at Gatwick any good?
The BA lounge at Gatwick is excellent. The standards now are where the BA 1st lounges were a few years back.

Tip: when you clear security, there is an exit on the left side, don’t go down the stairs, far quicker to get to the lounge.

Just to complete the story!

We returned this morning, unfortunately in a plane with the old Club World 2-4-2 seating configuration - it was fine, and I was able to get some sleep, but clearly the new Club Suites are vastly superior places to be!

I've been surprised at how good the aer Lingus BC experience was quite possibly the best cabin crew I've experienced. The seat isn't the best but still fully flat and the ife screen is a bit small, food was decent but for a far far cheaper price than ba we paid less than 1k return

But the crew were really superb

Took 10 mins to find it, again! Unfortunately came in at A and out at B so didn't have time to go to the garden lounge.

Is it worth bothering with the club suite? They’re much of a muchness regardless of where they are in the cabin. Unless you’re particularly keen on window seats two middle seats shouldn’t be hard to find together the moment check in opens

We did wonder that as we want the middle but would prefer front cw cabin if possible

Just wondering if I keep looking out for first as honestly other than the pj's you don't gain much and loose the door

I love the suites.

Get in., Shut the door and leave me alone! Very comfy for sleeping too. I slept all of 40 minutes on a 12 hour flight recently. Woke up FRESH to say the least!

I found the BA Euroflyer CC more attentive than those at Heathrow. Everyone I asked for a beer on the way back from Lanzarote last week I was given two, the man said well they are only small tins. Same with the Johnny Walker, two bottles handed over.

Couldn't agree more. What a huge upgrade on the old yingyang seats.

I really struggle to sleep on flights, and managed 5-6 hours to/ from South Africa. (It may have helped that the time zone doesnt really change)

BA now just need to put some decent wine in Club World

May be worth asking if you can get some Avios points gifted for having the old Club World product. When BA was upgrading the old 1st Class cabins, they would offer a large amount of Avios points to anyone who made a claim after booking a First flight that was in an old cabin.

My wife flew to Boston from Glasgow and said it was excellent fare.

Well, I have to admit that I thought this was a futile exercise, but had little to lose for the sake of quick email.
As well as expressing the disappointment of the old Club World seating, I also mentioned the non-working plug in my seat and the problem with check-in which meant we had no choice of seat and were forced into the centre seats, requiring a large step to get out to the bathroom. Not a problem for me at 6’2” but much more difficult for my wife at 5’0”.

Anyway a £200 e-voucher has been added to my account, so I’m very happy. Many thanks for the suggestion!

No problem, glad you got a good result, always found that BA are pretty good at offering Avios or vouchers when a customer has an issue.

I'm fked off BA have changed my flight to an a380 so been demoted to old club world frown I specifically chose the flight as it was club suite. Seriously tempted to cancel the flight bug then end up loosing deposits on the rest of the stuff we have booked

Can you switch to the 777 flight?

Can now see anything other than a380 on LHR MIA when I booked the morning flights were a380 but the later one was the a350 I'm sure BA0209 just looked last time it flew was the 5th and it was a 777

AA have something broadly similar to a club suite if they’ll switch you onto their 777’s but I don’t fancy your chances.
