Oh yes Popeye I can now see how you'd be such an authority with your local weather knowledge compared to someone who actually lives there for well over half of the year.......
Oh good grief I didn't design the graph myself you wazzock. If you don't think the holiday company's weather data is correct then take it up with them lol.

Listen up numb nuts & you might learn something....That's not the average temperature though is it, its the sum of the average high temp & average low temp divided by 2.

This is the more realistic daily temps.

Now then, let’s not squabble about it, but this is why I asked for the advice from people who either live there or visit regularly . I’ve never found weather charts helpful or to give a real life feel of what it’s like. Last year in July it was probably too hot for us but, by the sounds of it, April looks to be peachy so looking forward to a comfortable week. By the way, Alvor we found to be a lovely place and look forward to our return. Thanks for the input, much appreciated.

Absolutely beautiful here in Faro. Been sunbathing and exploring the old town and marina.

Perfect antidote to the grey and miserable UK weather!

I’ve spent a great deal of time in the Algarve including 8 months living there.
In April you may be lucky. However I’ve known April to very wet in the Algarve.

Any tips for the Vale Do Lobo resort? Family of 4, kids 19 & 21.

We did La Manga resort last year and loved the chilled vibe. We'll have a car.

This is Porta Arabe down on the marina, next to the bombeiros HQ. There were loads of nesting storks chattering away like mini pneumatic drills, it was truly fascinating! I’m pretty sure I saw a shop selling port there too biggrin

Today is looking equally glorious!

We’ve been many times at different times of the year, I agree, you may be lucky, it might be st. It was nice last April but this was April a couple of years ago! We were there for a week, it pissed down every day!

I tended to notice that about the Algarve. Once it started raining, it would rain (intermittently) for days.

Lol, if you say so. They don't match with the optimistic temps posted by you on the first page of this thread. There's always one....

As others have noted OP, Portugal can be a gamble weather wise virtually until the height of summer, but it's a lovely destination by and large.

It is more predictable though. If you book early, yes, you take your chances. But, unlike the UK where if the 2 week forecast looks great but changes the very next day, the Algarve is mostly spot on in my experience.

Obviously, living there, the rainy days felt very few over the course of a year or even Season. When living there, rain is welcome because it is a place constantly in danger of drought.

This year I'm dividing my time between UK, South Africa and Algarve with Slovakia briefly at the end. I'm hoping next year will be Algarve full-time again though because it has the best annual climate I've ever known where there are great weeks every month of the year.

Ha yes & clearly that one is you, you're really the gift that keeps giving.... Maybe try reading the guff you've posted before trying to prove a point that turns out only to be against yourself...

You said incorrectly that the average high in the Algarve in April was 17C from your posted none average temp chart (This I explained to you but clearly I can't help you to understand that) where as I said it was 22-26C last year when I was there, backed up by the actual average temp chart saying its 23C.

Sometimes in life you have to man up & say I was wrong, that or stop digging....

Ooooh!

I regognise that spot!
There's a decent cafe just up the steps in the corner on the right!

Algarve rainy season is 'usually' November - March, they expect 50 days of rain a year, I have been there in Jan- March and seen all 50....

Speaking to a good number of locals the winters have been getting hotter & dryer over the last few years, resovior water stocks are at an all time low & they are praying for rain….

O.P. - how did you get on ?

I think you said you would be in the Algarve in “late April”. Here in Carvoeiro 10 days ago we were sunbathing, swimming in the pool and sitting out late with the cicadas chirping. Since then the weather has been more Cardiff than Carvoeiro, last night the central heating went back on.

If you have been over here in the last week you have been incredibly unlucky and you have my sympathies.

Holidayed in the Algarve at Easter maybe 6 times. Generally speaking the days are pleasantly warm, occasional stormy days. Pools and sea are just about tolerable though...
