Turkey still allow (holiday) flights from Russia.
That alone is good enough for me to spend my tourist money elsewhere (and I have made this change) while they facilitate that despicable country.
I don’t understand this level of wokeist numptyism. Absolutely bizarre, everyone is laughing at you. That alone is good enough for me to spend my tourist money elsewhere (and I have made this change) while they facilitate that despicable country.

Also, everyone laughing at you seems to mean quite a lot to you, why is that do you think?

Dear god. Read my post again. If you still don't get it have a look at this picture of what was our villa (sold just before Xmas and not for any moral or conscientious reasons)
try and guess where it was. Then remind me why you think I'm "racist" towards Turks?
What on earth are you going on about?try and guess where it was. Then remind me why you think I'm "racist" towards Turks?
Unless you’re actively avoiding a country because they allow normal innocent people to holiday there, my post doesn’t apply to you does it?
The Racism is towards the Russians, have a go at googling the definition of racism and see how that applies here. Do try and keep up.
If anyone thinks Boycotting Turkey because Russians are allowed to spend money there is somehow negatively affecting Putin then they need their heads checking out

Your post just demonstrates how little you know about the Russians that visit and transit through Turkey.Unless you’re actively avoiding a country because they allow normal innocent people to holiday there, my post doesn’t apply to you does it?

They are the wealthy elite in Russia, spending thousands, if not tens of thousands a week on their Turkish holidays. If Turkey had some balls and refused their access, it would have a much bigger impact on Russia than some of the sanctions currently in place.
As I can vote with my feet, I will not hold my nose and spend my tourist money in the places that facilitate Russians, especially any country where if they placed restrictions it would hurt the higher levels of Russian society. You can live with your moral compass in the gutter, I will be better than you and have a clear conscience, and visit countries that have morals.
Thread has descended where I thought it might.
Visited Alanya 2 year ago, Hotel was great, staff were friendly and helpful and the food, weather and amenities were great. Had a few outings to Antalya to visit the local shops & markets & had some good bartering with the locals
Yes, there were Russians staying at the hotel and yes, there were a few "obnoxious" type's but there were also some who were just like us, enjoying our time in the pool and on the beach. Our 2 year old often played with a Russian couples 2 year old and we got on fine with them as they were friendly and hospitable enough, despite the language barrier.
I think a few too many posters on here need to switch off the BBC / sky news and just get out and enjoy things without having to be told "Russians bad / others good". A Country with a population of 144 million is going to have good eggs and bad, like any other country.

Suits me. I’d rather be stood at the hotel bar with a Russian than a Racist. They are the wealthy elite in Russia, spending thousands, if not tens of thousands a week on their Turkish holidays. Funny how this thread is fine yet my post in 'i am going to Tel Aviv for a wedding' got deleted.
Was it just your post, or did the entire thread get deleted?I refrained from posting in it as I thought it would get me into trouble, but I thought it was a massive mistake on the part of the OP and also several other posters who said things along the lines of "it still looks like a great place for a holiday" - you really do have to ask yourself what goes through these people's heads.

Not a lot going through people's heads I think is the answer.
Just stay on the right side of the law and you should be OK....otherwise.... https://youtu.be/KyGlCGqAgw0?si=eipRWBWwJ5uqV2uk

There's no reason to avoid Turkey at all. It's a beautiful place with lots to do. I would recommend renting a car and visiting Akyaka, Bodrum and if you have time Izmir.
There are no major concerns for safety unless you are travelling to a busy city, in which case follow the usual precautions for pickpocketing, avoiding crowds etc. So basically the same as you would do travelling in any other country.
There are local elections at the end of March, which won't affect anyone travelling in summer.
