Family Holiday - 3 hour flight

Good Morning All,
Looking to book summer holiday for 2 adults and 1 four year old.
It’s Childs second holiday and am looking for a reasonable all inclusive hotel on the beach ( hopefully something with some character like a cove not just a vast open expanse of sand )
Flight time up to 3 hours, we did Cyprus last year and the 4-4.5 hours plus transfers and waiting around at the airport got a bit draining.
Have been looking at Spain and would be keen to hear of any recommendations from other dads.

When mine were little, youngest was 3, we went to Cala D'Or, Mallorca.
It was a villa, not an AI, but a nice town with a lovely cove of a beach with other similar beaches up and down the coast.
Around the same years we also went to Mark Warner in Kos, Greek Islands.
That was nearly 20 years ago now, where did the time go

I’ve recommended this hotel so many times on this site I should start asking for commission.

Went when my son was 18 months old, and again the following year. The only hotel I’ve ever considered going back to more than once.

I know. We went last November, on the way, the captain said that due to the wind, it would be like being on concord. 3.5 hours !Have been looking at Spain and would be keen to hear of any recommendations from other dads.
But over 6 hours on the way back. Add in the time at both airports, coach to airport, driving home, it was 11 hours door to door. It's put us right off going again, with is a bit of a pity.

I'd echo Menorca, we had a great time last year at the Sol Penguinos. I get the time thing with hanging at airports and transfer, i always try and get a resort near the airport. Lanza I head for Matagorda or Los Pocillos, Fuerte - Caleta de Fuste. I do recommend Riu Paraiso in Lanzarote, lots of good facilities and decent food.
We went to Sardinia when our son was that age, wonderful family holiday.
Not sure about all inclusive options as we self-catered so we could eat out/when we choose, but it was lovely.
Great spacious white sand beaches, clear and calm waters, just the thing for a kid of that age. Lots of the beaches have gentle smooth rock formations that our son loved spending hours climbing over.
We rented a car so we could explore the island with a new beach every day, it was great. Two of my pet hates are pebbly beaches (mainland Italy) and crowded beaches. Sardinia was the opposite of these, just take some good flip flops/waterproof outdoor sandals as that sand gets incredibly hot to walk on.

We found that villas were perfect with an only child up until about 5 years old. We stayed in some memorable ones in Menorca (Cala Galdana, Son Xoriguer), Majorca (Pollensa old town), and Portugal (Vilamoura).
Since then we've found it easier to go to hotels where my daughter can meet and play with other kids which takes the pressure off you to a certain extent to keep them entertained. The stand out hotel being Creta Maris in Crete which is the only hotel we've ever gone back to more than once.

Thanks for the info, im finding some great locations but transfers are a killer and he suffers with travel sickness when in cars/coaches for long periods of time croyde said:

We are considering Sardina, given getting fed up with the time it's taking to get to/from Cyprus. However, we never set foot on a beach, so that's not something we need to consider.Not sure about all inclusive options as we self-catered so we could eat out/when we choose, but it was lovely.
