Is it possible to spend 4hrs in this place without going mental? Booking a flight and have several options one of which involves the above. I can spend time in certain airports quite easily but others seem to make my blood boil.

Who you flying with? Recently had a 4 hour wait at Melbourne airport, and Virgin kindly offered their club lounge at $35 each, including food, drinks, various entertainment (movies, pool table, internet access etc). The hours went by very fast thumbup

Am I correct in assuming your flying Continental as Houston is their major hub? If so follow the advice given above and book into the lounge, it's not that expensive if your a "One-Pass" member, if your not register with the airline before you go, it's free and worth it.

If your not flying Continental, you can print-out a map of the airport from Continental's website, that should give you some idea of what's available at the airport.

There is not a lot to do in Houston sorry, they do have good shoe shine stalls though yes but that will only distract you for a few minutes before your bored again, if you have a gold card for StarAlliance / Continental the lounge is not bad, if you have a shower remember to ask for a towel from the nice lady.

Cheers for the advice. Yes its continental so I will get me one of those one-pass thingys. Guess I can while away the hours in the lounge sipping coffee and eating nice free biscuits.

I recently flew through Houston to Kansas and managed to spend about 3 hours in the place. It's ok, not a huge amount to do, we got held up in customs which took some time. Pottered around, had some food and were bored for about the last hour.

It's nothing like T5, but it's not the worse place in the world. Depending on which terminal your connecting flight goes from it might also take a little while to work out where you have to go!
