We're thinking of a family holiday (granparents etc) for 2 weeks in Aug 2011 and are thinking about the Girona area of Spain. We have spent some time across the border around Carcassonne for a few similar holidays and for a change fancy trying Spain. The villa needs to be big enough to accomodate 8 adults and 3 kids. A Pool is essential and enough things to do to keep the kids (ages 18 mths to 11 Yrs occupied).

Anyone got any recommendations...???

Not sure of the budget that you have in mind, but this property is owned by friends and ticks all your boxes. Villa Begur

Where are you going to be staying, in Girona or on the coast? Girona itself is very nice and well worth a visit. You are also only a short train ride/drive from Barcelona of course. The coast has got some fabulous beaches and beautiful villages. There are also a few places to steer clear of if you want to avoid the worst of Europes holiday makers!

Cadaques (Dali's home town) is pretty cool and just up the coast. And this national park is a few hours inland and is well worth the trip.
