Cape Verde...

has anyone got any recommendations on Cape Verde? was thinking of there or Egypt for hols in oct this year (things are a bit dicey in Egypt atm so looking at the other option)

any thoughts on what to do when there, which island to go to, its just me and the missus, so no kids.

CV is a newish destination and all the info i have found is a bit basic, i'd like to hear from someone who has actually been there.

Having been there, I'd fly right past it and go somewhere else. Quite what the attraction to the place is I'm not sure, it's pretty enough, but there's absolutely nothing to do once you leave the hotel. It's boring as hell, everything is overpriced, and it's all a bit 'meh' IMO.

Go to Gambia or something, at least you won't be as bored.

i did think that myself when doing some reading. all the websites say how beautiful it is but dont go on to say what there is to do. granted, i dont want to be out clubbing every night but i'd like to do some watersports, diving etc.

the gambia? not sure about that, but i'll take a look.

nice one paddy! thats what i was looking for. still undecided though, i quite like the sound of sal, and the whole eating, swimming, quads.
